I always like to read tests that compare a polymer with a Carnauba wax and call it a ‘Wax test
Somewhat like comparing an apple to an orange

Wax test...

Sure,

But at the end of the day, they still gave a good hands on, unbiased (IMO) review of two "polishes"

I still cant get Zymol to bond to Zaino! Its frustrating, the zymol doesnt spread very well, but deepens the black color of areas where it does sit, and it doesnt haze up very well for removal of the original wax. Any ideas?

i took a closer look at it today. here are the products...

Zaino Z-2 Show Car Polish - $12.95 per bottle
Zaino Z-1 Show Car Polish LOK, "Pre-Cleaner and Gloss Conditioner" - $8.95 per bottle
Zymol NSX Glaze - $144.00 per jar
Zymol HD-Cleanse - $25.50 per bottle
Meguiar's Gold Class, Liquid Clear Coat Car Wax - $12.95
Zymol Natural Liquid Auto Polish - $20.00

notice how meguiars was the only wax? the others were paint cleaners... there was one glaze...i still don't see how that would be fair. if it were to be fair, then zaino should get its own wax, and the same with zymol. and it should be compared the Meguiars NXT paste wax. not the liquid...oh and $144 dollars for nsx glaze!? oh dear god that is expensive!! you can use all of meguiars products for that price!

Your car is three days old and you already applied Zaino to it? What did you do to prep the new car for the initial Zaino treatment?

oh yea and i hoped you clayed that car. because when being transported by train, lots of rust comes off the car and sticks onto the paint. i highly advise claying to get the great smoothness

that is a really cool article and test. interesting... i know some people who are really pleased with cheap zymol - for the money, not bad at all! i have always used turtle wax, but i may try liquid wax next time - a LOT less buffing i've heard! one of these days, i may try zaino too - apparently the best

I recommand you skip liquid wax and give zaino a try, no buffing needed at all, just apply and wipe off with a 100% cotton towel. The optical clearity is amazing after just 1 coat of it.

Claying...

Well,

Yes my car is 3 days old and had 2 coats of Zaino (Z2) and one coat of Z1 (that's what i started with). I didn't feel the need to clay the car as the car was new to begin with, so the body/paint was in great shape. I guess you guys can tell i really like the product, it takes me 15 minutes to apply to the entire car, and then appx 20 minutes to get it off, with little effort. There's a lot of crevices on this car (particularly around the body side molding). I also use it on glass, door columns, basically everything. When i had my vett, after 3 years of zainoing, people were always amazed at how good the paint job was. In particular, bugs/tar/etc just don't stick to a well zaino'd car, they come right off w/ a sponge. My garage shelf has about 10 other waxes i've tried over the years, that all stopped once i became a zaino addict!

This weekend should be nice, it will be time for the 3rd coat, then i'll take a breather for a while.

Did you do the ziplock bag test before you Zainoed your car?

Although it is a new car, the paint can still be contaiminated.

The plastic baggie test

It's where you put your hand in the bag, and run it over the paint. If you feel and bumps, you need to clay your car.

California Duster

Oh yes,

And to keep a nice clean car in a pollen/dusty area, i use a california duster to remove the dust after a day on the town. Its amazing how well it works and doesn't scratch the car.

that thing IS amazing...makes it look like you just washed your car even after it had a full, heavy coating of pollen/dust

Aceman

Zaino Z-2 Show Car Polish
Zaino Z-1 Show Car Polish LOK, "Pre-Cleaner and Gloss Conditioner"
Zymol NSX Glaze
Zymol HD-Cleanse
Meguiar's Gold Class, Liquid Clear Coat Car Wax
Zymol Natural Liquid Auto Polish

Zymol HD Cleanse is the only one that could qualify as a polish (a product that contains an abrasive)

The others are ‘waxes’ (despite what they are called, a wax doesn’t contain any abrasives, the only exception is a cleaner wax)

I not getting on your case mate but even “a interesting non-scientific comparison” should at least be accurate

K Car
I would Highly recommend claying a brand new car. Basically, the car has been transported by truck/train/boat etc. where it was subject to all kinds of airborne particles with little to no protection.

For the poster that was trying to get zymol to bond to zaino.... Why? If you want to use zymol, just wash the car with dawn to strip the zaino, and start over with the zymol.

Don't mix products, especially zaino.
