Great shine! Was blackfire easy buffing off? And did it leave any kind of smears or streaks on the car? I just applied blackfire on a white car, and the ease of taking them off is like a dream. I'm wondering whether it's the same on black car.

Carnuba over Blackfire

Can you then put more Blackfire over the carnuba without having to strip it first? Will the Blackfire bond well?

To put on more Blackfire....one would have to lightly polish the car before putting on another coat.

What do you use to polish? Would you use something like 3M Imperial Hand Glaze or a wax remover? Is it the same procedure if I used carnuba over Zaino, Klasse, Finish First or any other polymer type product? Zaino says to strip down to bare paint.

what you should have said is "YES, you need to strip your carnuba b4 you can add more blackfire".

Q: How do I strip off my carnuba and leave my blackfire untouched?

A: Use blue dawn. NOT 3M IHG.

"Polishing", implies the use of an abrasive polish. An abrasive polish will remove everything, including your blackfire. All you want to do is remove your carnuba.

MercManiac, I applaud you for experimenting, BUT, why put carnuba over blackfire? The reason why most people put carnuba over their klasse is because klasse doesn't provide the depth and warmth of carnuba. Blackfire is supposed to give the same type of shine that carnuba does, only it has the longevity and protective properties of a polymer. Hence, adding a carnuba topper over blackfire is rendundant, and more cumbersome. Cumbersome, because you have to go through the process of stripping your carnuba b4 you can add more blackfire.

I dunno, just my $0.02

Nice shine! Seeing a shine on black like that is very rewarding!

Your points are correct. I just noticed more depth or dimensionality of shine with the P21S coat....not more reflective shine with the P21S coat.

Everytime I wax my car I always polish (since that's where 95% of the shine comes from to begin with) so for me it's not redundant...but for most everyone else it probably is.
