Thumbs up Wax recommendation

Until recently I was using Mothers Wax on my SLK. Then this saturday I was at the Eastern States Exposition (The Big E) in Springfield, MA and I saw a demo of IBIZ wax. As always I was skeptical, but decided to give it a shot, so I bought their Waterless Wash & Wax (Pre-treatment) and their World Class Car Wax.

As usual, I ran the car through a "touchless" car wash (no waxes, polishes, or sealers). I then dried it with a synthetic chamois leather and started applying the Wash and Wax. This was a spray-on wipe-off type affair and took about 45 minutes. Once done, I applied the World Class Car Wax the application of which was an absolute breeze.

After an hour and a half of good hard work, the car looked absolutely stunning with a deep deep finish and nice reflective highlighting on the curves that I really wasn't expecting.

I don't know how well the wax will hold up over a long period, but I am very happy with the initial results.

If anyone is interested, you can get this stuff at waxdirect.com

It's pretty pricey, but I'm hoping it will be worth it.

From what ive seen, IBIZ is pretty lousy. I am a huge zaino fan as awiner is.

AlBoston: seeing as how I'm about to pick up a new car soon, I was hoping you'd answer a quick question. I haven't detailed in at least a couple of years, and the last I checked I was using 3M IHG and Blitz wax. A great combo, I thought, but nowadays it seems everyone's crazy about Zaino. Is it that much better than what I've been using? Should I switch?

hey, the reason i really like zaino is because of its EXCELLENT durability. And after about 3 coats the slickness of the paint is incredible. It is unlike any other type of system i have used. I have tried many many waxes, sealants, etc. I am settled on zaino.

I'm beginning to learn that Zaino has incredible durability and slickness. I was just wondering: would you still use Zaino if your only concern was ultimate in depth-of-shine / gloss? CUrious as to your recommendations. Thanks!

Actually, I'm asking with regards to my parents' upcoming new car that I'm purchasing for them. I hesitate to say that it's a Lexus, but it's going to be brand new, and yes, I am going to explicitly tell the dealership NOT to prep the paint.
