Car Freshner

So once that new car smell is gone, what do you guys use for a car freshner. is it the usual pine sented freshners, cologne, sented candles, etc... ??? or do you just taxi it.

in my old cutlass i used to burn incense sticks in the back seat and then
vacuum out the ashes, it smelled gooooood

in my current vehicle, a single can of "cherry" freshener from wal mart
will suffice to get a compliment on how good my car smells

yeah
chicks digg the cherry smell

I use Zaino's Leather in a Bottle on my interior to give it that clean/new car scent and that is it. No fresheners allowed.

A nice tip from a detailer. Get a bottle of febreeze, and mix with some liquid fabric softener and spray your mats, and vacuum. Smells decent, and makes your mats soft too.

no joke... My ML55 that is 7 years old... still gives off "new car smell"

This results in a "wow, Im never getting rid of this car" feeling and shortly after something breaks

Don't use those tin can air fresheners. The previous owner of my 2.3-16 used those and it's taking forever, using baking soda, febreeze, carpet shampoo and more, to get the scent out of the carpets, headliner and interior.

I'd try to avoid the generic fresheners, especially anything CHERRY (boooo berger)

Febreeze is great because it makes the car smell fresh (without having any placeable fragrance) and cleans/refreshens whatever you spray it on (ie: the mats, etc. I wouldn't spray it on your seats though, if anything stick with the your usual upholstry cleaner.

Mine always smells fresh because I do so many long drives with all windows down, either country drives or out Hwy 1 to the coast. Well...and from about
mid august through early november my car will have a slight hint of grapes (gotta love living in the backyard of the wine country!)

I hit my mats and carpet with Febreeze about 2-3 times per week. Its quick and easy.

Smells and Odours:
If the interior has a lingering odour from French fries, spilled milk, or misplaced baby diapers or wet pets, use a product that chemically alters the proteins that odour-causing microbes feed on (Auto Internationals Odor Terminator (Valuguard) most odours will be eliminated (http://www.autoint.com) that is non-toxic, non-allergenic, fast acting, without a cover up scent or an offensive perfume smell.

Toss a dryer sheet like bounce or other brand under your seat and it will absorb all odors and keep your car smelling nice. I use the unscented kind and it keeps the car odor free. I'm not a big fan of fruit smelling scents. Replace it once a week. Costs $3 for 60 sheets so you can use it for a long time.

That white volcano rock taht Griot's sells definitely works. You can pick up a bag at the grocery store or Home Depot for about $7. I think that's cheaper than Griot's sells it for. Just leave it in the sun every couple of months for a couple of hours to recharge them.

My leather interior

Is the best part of opening the door, aside from driving the car.

Seriously, my wife bought this fragrence in an envelope at a local car wash, at first I was upset (are you trying to tell me something), but it actually smells pretty good.

I use several different colognes and the aroma doesn't seem to linger as long as this air freshener in an envelope.

Wurth, a very good German manufacturer of car-related chemicals and such, makes a deodorizer/AC cleaner. You can buy it retail from my good friends at Prestige Express Auto Spa (http://prestigeautospa.com) in Mahwah, New Jersey.

Is there no way to get a bottle of new car that smells identical to the MB new car smell?
