Zaino

Seeing all the amazing results some of you people have got with Zaino, I couldn't resist myself, so I ordered a set of Zaino products today.

(Z1,Z2,Z5,Z6,Z7,Z12,Z18)

I am now wondering what is the best method for producing amazing results. My car is a designo brilliant black metallic CLK430 1999 which has a rather rough surface, I'm thinking perhaps I should hand it in for a professional rub/polish before I start with the Zaino products.

Any tips/ideas much appreciated!

The Z18 clay treatment should take care of the roughness. Read the application tips on Zainos site. They are a good starting point.

AlBoston has some 'stickys' in this forum as well with lots of tips.

So, do you guys think that I should have the car machine polished/rubbed before starting the Zaino treatment?

Follow awiner's advise. You will be shocked at how well the clay bar works. Just be careful.

After claying I would also use a light paint cleanser. If you have swirls you may want to use something more agressive first. Remember to wash (Dawn) before Zaino treatment.

Are you saying a machine rub/polish is unnecessary if I do the Z18 Claybar and then a Z5-Z1-Z2-Z2-Z2... ?

I can't answer that without seeing what the paint looks like.

Do you have swirl marks and scratches in the paint?

If not, after claying I would use a light paint cleanser applied by hand. After, feel the paint and you will be amazed.

If you want to remove swirls/scratches you need to use a more agressive product and/or have a professional detail.

Some good polishes that can be easily be applied by hand. Easy to apply and remove. You can do the whole car in 30 minutes.

I took the plunge and handed in my baby for a machine-polish and scratch fix this morning. There were lots of micro-scrathes from bad washing, so in the sun it didn't look as good as it could do.

Hopefully my Zaino kit will arrive next week and I'll apply it next weekend. The european distributor was out of the Z-6 though, so I've ordered the other stuff meanwhile, and will order some Z-6 bottles once they've got them in stock again.

Is it ok to do the Zaino treatment (had in mind to do a Z5/Z1 and then several layers of Z2) without using the Z6 in between?

Thanks,

Martin

No, you should use it with Z-6. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but it is suppose to help to increase the depth, gloss, and optical properties of the polish.
