I just got a reminder as to why people don't buy black cars...

I just washed that thing for 3 hours, it's like right when you think you are done, the car is perfectly clean, some water spot comes up, then another, then another.....and you have to wash it like 3 times a week to keep it looking clean...

I'm just venting, I guess its a price you have to pay for the nice look a black car has.

u been under a rock lately?

mr clean has come out with an auto dry car wash. its a big gun thing that u use and it mixes soap for you and then has a water purifier to let it dry by itself. they advertise on tv a lot and iv seen a few people talking about it on here. i support it. go pick urself up some.

and that water purifier is that thing that actually does all the work. removes all the water's contaminates that causes the spots. Spray the water on with that settin and let it dry by it self, no spots whatsoever, it was about time someone thought of this.

thsi was probably the best $20 i've spent for a car care product, highly recommeneded.

i don't buy their soap, i just buy the regular meguiars stuff that i've always used. No differences that i've noticed really. And yes, those filters are a tad expensive, but i think it's worth it.

I've heard the thing only works like 3 times, then becomes worthless. I'd rather just get a water purifier instead.

No No No!!! You're doing it all wrong!

No wonder you're frustrated. I went through the same agony until I changed my ways....do this routine and I guarantee you'll find out why people buy and love black cars:

1. Lay down a good clean polish base...Dawn/clay/Klasse AOI X 2/Klasse SG X 2/ Blitz X 2 (you can substitute Zaino or any good polymer for the Klasse but it's the most durable and easy to use IMHO)
2. Use a California duster when the car gets a light dust.
3. Use a detail spray and micro fiber towels when more than the duster is needed...my choice is Eimann Fabrik.....unless it rains or you go through a mud derby...you live in Glendale, how often does it rain there????
4. When you do need to wash, dry the car then use the detail spray immediately. It will get rid of the water spots and top of the shine.

5. Every couple of months top of with a layer of Blitz.

Where you live the polish base should last a year. Don't fight the elements with a black car, learn to use modern products to your advantage.
It takes 15 min to 1/2 hour to detail spray and wipe down your car.

I live in Huntington Beach and wash my black C320 only about 6 - 8 times a year and I consider myself 'picky' when it comes to car finish.

The water left on the car will always dry up leaving spots behind, unless you shamy it off right away.

Black cars are a true test for the perfectionist detailer. Regular washings are just a fact of life when it comes to owning such a color. The trade-off is that any well-maintained black car immediately turns heads and is the envy of all other drivers who wish their cars looked so good!

Keep up the hard work and eventually you will come to appreciate such a beautiful color.

Nah, black seems to make cars appear much larger then they really are for some reason.

Saw a black W220 on my drive home back to school, almost looked like a Limo till I pulled up right next to it.

No I didn't race it.. it was my aunt..
