Do you mean E320 Bluetec ? If so, this car can run on B5, ULSD with a 5% bio content. Currently, there is very limited availability for this fuel, but it will be expanded.

06 E320 CDI
I have a 99 E300 turbo that I bought last year. I have been running B99 exclusively since I got it.
Runs great, changed fuel filters during last service not that it needed but just to be safe. My car is a tank, exactly what I was looking for.

Averaging around 27 mpg everything, out on the freeways about 33-35. Smells good, feels even better.

No problems at all, feels good to be oil independent.

No wars needed!

Hey their should be no problem running the biodiesel the years od the diesel are 96, 97 with no turbo and the years 98,99 with a turbo 99 was the last year until 2005 with the cdi. I own a 99 e300 and like the last poster said it is like a tank i used to run b20 in it with no problems however the station went out of business.

Agreed. The burnt diesel is very aromatic. Not smokey like gas exhausts. I get the same and I drive FAST.

Thanks ! The waiting is driving me nuts. If there are no more Indian blockades and derailments on CN Rail, then my car should arrive in Vancouver about mid-July.
FYI, current diesel price here is $1.05 v's $1.35+ for premium gas !!!

I pumped up yesterday at Petro Can @ $0.959 per liter. Not high cetane stuff though. Unleaded is $0.103 a liter. With 30% better fuel economy I am very happy with the E.

You should have it cheaper in BC as there is so much oil next door in Alberta.

what are part numbers or places where you could buy upgraded fuel lines and seals for diesels specifically 126's so you can biodiesel?

The best place to look is to go to the diesel truck magazines.

www.dieselworldmag.com and www.dieselpowermag.com

Lots to read.

Diesel at the Flying J in Calgary(as well as some Shell stations) was posted at 80.8/l. My GL 320 is getting about 27 mpg in the city and has tons of power. Can't believe more people haven't embraced the new diesel technology.

Can't wait for Carlson to release the CD 32 chip for the GL

That is why Ontarians and other Canadians are flocking to the oil country. Diesel prices in TO are still good compared with gasoline ($0.949 versus $1.09 per liter). The Petro-Can website says that they still sell LSD in Ontario for "off road use" only whatever that means. My 2006 CDi can burn both LSD and ULSD so if I can lay my hands on some of that LSD I shall gladly burn it for the tree hugging Californians. There is supposedly 1% improvement in consumption with the 500 ppm nutritious yellow sulphur.

It makes sense. More BTU. More power. More mileage. Take a deep breath all Tree-buggers.

Not possible. Re-check your math.

As far as a 6,000lb truck with 220hp having "tons of power"...I suppose it's all relative.

Carluver is in Calgary, so he is quoting imperial mpg, not US; the equivalent US mpg would be approx 22 mpg.

As DerekACS stated my figures are imperial gallons not US. I suppose I could have stated it as 10.5l/100km.

As for tons of power, I agree it is not a race car but compared to similar SUV's it is very good especially at highway speeds.

The vehicle does only have 215 HP and weighs 5300lbs but 400 lb/ft of torque makes up for the lack of HP.

Feels good to live in fantasyland, that is.

Who/what hauled the french fry grease to McDonalds?
What did McDonalds heat it with in its state prior to being waste?
What fuel did the farmer use to raise the animals/plants from which the grease is derived?
What was burned to light and heat the buildings where all this was processed?

As long as it blows black smoke and has lots of torque (400 foot pound +++) I do not care if it is victory fry oil or **** I am burning in my engine.

My son is driving around in a company car, a late model VW Golf TDi with a large filler hole that will accept a truck stop hose. My 2006 CDi has a smaller hole that accepts only a gasoline size hose.

What are the USA E320 CDi models like?

E-320 Bluetec
Same as yours in C on my 2007 E320 Bluetec. I guess when the change over was made to ULSD there wasn't a change in the size of the gas spout like it was when we changed from leaded to unleaded, just a sticker on the pump.

I think it flows quicker and with the larger diameter more volume. The only negative is overflowing and dripping. With the higher flow it is easier to foam and drip with the large bit of fuel pumped.

I don't know how the ULSD CDIs would do with fry oil, and it's true that it's tough to really be petrolium free even burning that, but I will say that my GL320 is a darned fast car. No high-revs like a gas engine but so much low-end acceleration it's scary.

Now, to be OPEC free, you'd have to have had the truckers running on 100BD (which they apparantly do in the UK), as well as the farmer running either on that or ethanol, and then have Mickey-D's heat the oil electrically with power from either the Hoover Dam or a nuclear plant (fantasy land could include a combination of 10,000 acres of solar cells along with 1500 wind turbines if you gave it three days to properly heat the oil to cooking).

Personally, I'd love to be free of needing oil for moving cars and machines, as much as possible, because it means we're beholden to unstable regimes. But in the short term the best way to do that is tap our own huge reserves and build new refineries, but we don't do that.

I think MB is not ready for 100% bio-diesel and they said so on their website. It is sensible. The savings on using this instead of total petroleum diesel is neglegible if you take into consideration the steep costs of buying a new engine or emission system. I love the smell of burnt diesel and the noise the MB diesel makes when cruising, like a outboard marine motor.
