W209 320 CDI V6; W210 320 CDI I6

Assambly instructions: Inlet manifold servo protector For MB C, E, CLK, R, GLK,……V6

1.-Remove the engine cover, it is fitted into the lugs.
2.-Remove the air intake duct, loosening the edges with a screwdriver and the front binding turbo and disconnecting the electrical connections.
3.-Place the accessory.
4.-Repeat steps in reverse order for assembly

Hello, it protects the servo manifold of the admisión cause in the OM642 engine, the hot oil can entry in the servo causing its a failing and an expensive breakdown.
I don´t know if it´s fits well in your engine.
You can see a lot of related problem with this in the mb forums, just look by inlet servo manifold OM642

Can anyone explain what happens when this servo starts failing? If the servo is having problems, could this explain low fuel pressure codes?

The sensor don´t measure well, so then the proportion that goes into the engine is less than in a normal situation cause the car detects that the sensor is break. Then the car can´t overtake 120km/h or so with less than a half or power.

I like the look of this curved metal sheild, which will divert away any leaked oil away from the swirl motor underneath.

Is this metal shield a genuine Mercedes part, or is it a custom made item?

If it is a Mercedes part, do you have the part number to order it?

The servo is just under the shield. That shield is not included in the engine, you should put it to avoid this failure.

I have had oil leaks in that area. The first time the dealer did a lot of warranty work on the oil cooler. I don't think that was the problem. I myself t hen changed that orange PCV/preheater connector and it was much better. I clean the area regularly with orange cleaner and pressure wash! it stays pretty clean now.

The problem are the seals but this platens protects from any oil leak that worn seals produce. You shouldn´t clean that area with pressure wash due to the servo can be damaged with water in the same way that it´s from oil.
