2012 GL350 Front Air Suspension Replacement
OK. It's my turn to replace my front suspension, I'm going with Arnott because of the lifetime warranty. Does anyone have the discount code, as MBSAVE12 didn't work.
Thanks

arnottdoug- thanks, but I'm being told by my MB dealer in Silver Springs MD that MB doesn't sale service or shop manual to the public. Not sure I trust what I see on EBAY any thoughts?
Thanks

I've always had good luck with AllDataDIY.com for my cars and trucks. Up to date TSB's, virtually identical service procedures as the manufacturer's manuals. Torque specs too.

Wrong repair Red arrow shows need spec
adding Pic with arrow to what I need. Upper control arm is in 2nd PIC
Thanks for the reply but I need the specs for 3 10mm bolts on the top of shock, 23mm bolt that connect the lower A-arm and the 21mm bolts for upper control arm and lower sway arm. Any help would be much appreciated.

Update. Today I paid for access to STAR TekInfo web site to get the torque spec for the bolts in the above post. But I was unable to find the info I need. I have access until 8am 2/23/18, if anyone could help that would be great.
Thanks

So I'm back!! Back in 2/18 I replaced both front Air shocks with Aronott new replacement. Well on 6/9/18 after a round trip to Fredrick MD, I pull in the driveway turn off truck and I hear air sound from passenger side of car and the shock completely deflates. So I turn car back on, passenger side inflates to drive height, but I still hear air sound. Turn off truck and the passenger side completely deflates. So I have an email into Aronott to get the replacement process. I will update when I hear back. Hoping Doug Doug@arnottinc.com will make quick work of this.

Don't forget to take pictures?
I am always very skeptic to "lifetime warranty".
Who's life we are talking about?
Most of the time they apply to original buyer only.

OK. called Aronott today and found that I have to buy the replacement FIRST (468.00). So it's on order and should be here in few day. Should only take about 1.5-2hrs to replace this time. Then I ship the old one back and I get a FULL refund in a few days after they receive the old one. So more updates to follow. The attached video is what I hear after I start the truck let it run for 30/40 sec then turn it off.

i just had all 4 air suspensions repair and front brakes.. $4950.
Dealer warrantees work for 2yrs.
Stated he sees the aftermarket products failing due to incorrect install and not the same quality as MB units.
Do I now keep this SUV for the next 10yrs?
GL550 2011 83k miles
Also last year the vehicle sensors went, that was $1500...
Any other big issues?

I'm a huge fan of this SUV, and so I looked at it as an investment (put 5k in, get 3 yrs no headaches).
I know I paid a premium, but wanted to ping the group to hear about their real experience with the GL 550.
Thanks,

Ouch, I replaced my Rears and Compressor with Arnott for a fraction of that. They used GoodYear Bags...the OEM ones are garbage, they are warrantied for 2 years, but are guaranteed to break in 3.

yes ouch is right. When you say a fraction, do you have a breakdown (rough) material v labor. I know I pay for the premium service at the dealer, though I just need to estimate how much.

Update, today I took the car out and its not doing anything. Its at what I think is off-road height and stuck there (off-road is when you push the button on the console and the body rises a few inches). I took it on the highway at 40+ mph for 1/2 mile and it didn't lower. It my understanding that at 40+plus MPH it should lower to highway height for better gas mileage and lower center of gravity. It also my understanding that is the case on all model with or without ADS. Is that true? The only thing it does is release air (pssst sound like air brakes on trunk) all the time when stop or driving. Here a link to the video of the 40+mph test. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1wW...bbbTmHT47E7-MI
