2011 E350 Bluetec Diesel at 130,000 miles got the oil leak
finally. $1 o-ring between the engine and oil cooler, $4000 in labor.
Sold the car, Honda Accord Hybrid incoming.
It was a decent run, but I am all done with M-B

But a $4000 repair bill on a car with a book value of $6000 is just foolish.

You sold it for 6k? dam I would’ve bought it. Wish I could get a deal like that. 4K is ridiculous for repair definitely could’ve gotten it cheaper in Indy shop.

I accepted $5700 from a car buyin service, but I still have the car and title.
I am in CT, you are welcome to come get the car for $6k.
P2 and leather. Spectacular shape.

Fantastic business opportunities. Buying these cars with some simple problem that's mostly time consuming and flipping them. But how do you establish connection with MB dealer, that's were they mostly are offloaded.

It will be business only when you sell it for more than you bought it.
It is sad time for MB diesels. I am trying to sell my 2008 Bluetec, who has body in pristine condition with only 2 hard to see dings.
Yet with high miles - KBB gives it $2000 and even I can sell it in CA, where diesels are more appreciated, I don't think I can get over $4000.
At this point I think abut putting it in non-op status and keep till better times arrives, or newer car will give ghost.
Seeing how W123 keep the value, pre-DEF diesel might become classic.
