W211 E320 OM648 _ No start _ NEED HELP!
This thread is a continuation of my last thread where no solution was found until the car died and wouldn't start anymore.
https://mbworld.org/forums/diesel-fo...-no-crank.html
Had it sent to the dealer where they changed out my front driver sam unit and coded for about $900. This did not solve the issue as the car gave out on me a few days after. Having towed it to the dealer again, they couldn't find an issue and said to replace the ECU.
The quote for the ECU w/ a new EGR valve (They are unrelated aren't they?) was for $2400
I decided to take things into my own hands and sent out my ECU to get tested by Xemodex in Canada, They seem to be very reputable in handling electronics. They came back to me saying that the ECU worked perfectly and didn't need any repairs. When I received the ECU back and put it in, the car still doesn't crank, no glow plug light nothing.
Bought me an Autel scanner with Benz manufacturer code reader for $60 (This actually works way better than expected - Autel MaxiAP Ap200). The car had been sitting with the main battery unplugged, so first there were a lot of Undervoltage codes present that I cleared. But the following are the active and stored codes that keep reappearing.
Codes shown:
The diesel cdi module fails to read. So no injector, rail pressure data etc.
ETC System - Electronic Transmission Control
P2311 - One or more messages from the ECM are unavailable on the CAN bus (CAN timeout fault) - Stored & Current
P2312 - One or more messages from the ECM are unavailable on the CAN bus (CAN timeout fault) - Stored & Current
ESP System - Electronic stability program
53F0 - CAN communication with the control module "Engine Management" is sporadically interrupted - MIL ON and Stored & Current
4A30 - ECM not identified or incorrect control module - MIL ON and Stored & Current
CAN System - Diagnosis
930E - Synchronization of the DTC memory cannot be ensured - Stored & Current
Dr. Side SAM System
9081 - Signal cable ' Terminal 61' has open circuit (Terminal 61 implausible) - Stored & Current
Steering Column Module SCM (MRM)
9348 - No CAN message is received from the control module "Engine Control Module" - Stored & Current
Automatic Air Conditioning AAC
9021 - Check the DF signal of component 'Generator' - Stored & Current
ASSYST - Active service system
9204 - Control module 'ASSYST' is not receiving any messages from the engine compartment CAN bus - Stored & Current
TELE AID - Control unit
D640 - Can bus to the control module 'Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS/EZS)' (CAN D): CAN reception of control module EIS/EZS data is timeout - Stored & Current
Clearly, there is something wrong with the CAN communication and thus potentially the wiring harness? Can someone provide me with a detailed wiring diagram for the engine harness? Also What else should I be looking at? Whats terminal 61 on the front dr. SAM?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So the dealer took your $900 and gave you dead car?
What are you chances you will succeed with cheap scanner, where dealers's technician failed with $25,000 machine and all the subscriptions?

@kajtek1 Well they kept lamenting that its a 2005 car with 250000 miles. That tells me that they didnt bother to do a decent job of tracing the issue as at that point it was an intermittent issue. Now its completely given up.

Losing $900 on job not done, I would report it to MB USA hotline.
Now coming to technical part, so many codes can't just happen. Usually something is triggered by low car voltage.
So clear the codes, make the car keeps proper voltage and recheck it again.
