OM642 - Massive oil consumption from turbo intake side CLS 350CDI 2011 (C218/W218)

Greetings everyone!

I've purchased about two months ago a 2011 CLS 350CDI with oil consumption problems. I knew the turbo was on it's way out so I sent it to a good refurbish centre. Still noticed great oil consumption (about 1L per 200-300km). Went ahead and changed the dreaded PCV valve and can't say it was much of an improvement even though the old one was obviously worn out.
Today I did a test and ran the engine with the plastic intake taken off. I saw small droplets of oil forming as the turbo was spinning.
Engine does not produce any amount of blow by in my opinion.
My question is, what could it be? Could the turbo have been refurbished badly, is it taking oil in by the intercooler somewhere, or are the piston rings done for, or maybe something else?

I have video, but the forums won't let me upload it, I'll post it unlisted on YouTube and paste the link here -
Any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance!

Make sure the turbo oil drain line is clear. If the oil can't drain back it ends up in the intake.

Do you know anything about the maintenance history on the car before you bought it?

I would suspect that there may be something up with the turbo since it was just rebuilt, however that oil could have been in the turbo and just got spun out from revving, not necessarily from the turbo. However if your issue is a stuck oil control ring (fairly common on the OM642) then I can share with you the fix that worked for me.

Half a can of this stuff in the oil. I drove a little (very carefully) with it in my crankcase but the safer procedure is to get the engine up to operating temps, add half a can, let it idle in park for 30 minutes to 1 hour, then do an oil change. If it doesn't solve your oil consumption, repeat using the other half of the can, and then if that still doesn't work maybe that's not your issue but you'll at least know your engine is squeaky clean inside!

"your engine is squeaky clean inside"...
Hmm. Poor choice of phrasing?
