New Car

My 2004 CLK320 is getting old and I am thinking of a new car soon (after the winter). In the first 2-3 years, I have had many repairs on this car on new car warranty. Then in the past 2 years, the car has been good and reliable. The E350 looks great but I am concerned on its reliability.

I also like the 3-series but the new body style is coming out soon (2012, not confirmed). Probably the new 3-coupe will come out a few months after the sedan. Not sure if I want to wait for this long.

i say get the 550 but if you have to settle, get the 350 but make sure it has the sport package so you get the AMG body kit!

Actually I am looking for a good looking, elegant and durable car.

I am more interested in comparing the 2 coupes; current 3-coupe and E-coupe. Also, I only buy the one with smaller engine...

E350 Coupe
If you are looking for style you can't go wrong with the E350 coupe. There is a place on MSN Auto where you can do a side by side photo comparison of the E coupe and the BMW and Audi. In my opinion the BMW and Audi are still very boxy looking. I will never be able to get past that Audi grill. Now I know that each brand has a very loyal following that will completely disagree with me. The coupe looks longer lower and sleeker. By the way I should mention that I own an E350, Black with beige interior, P2, apperance package, paddle shifters, wood wheel and shifter. The E350 has plenty of power for normal driving and is a little more fun in Sports mode. No, it definately does not have the V8s power but how often do you really get to use that extra power? On the interstate the V6 cruises effortlessly, is very quiet and comfortable. I've also heard criticisms of the interior. again this is a coupe and the interior is sportier looking that the E sedan. I am very pleased with mine.

In my opinion, I like the look of CLK (W209), with its subtle elegant and class. Unfortunately, this is not 'in' look anymore.

Hope I will find a spy-shot of the new 3-series soon, sedan and/or coupe so I will have an idea if it's worth the wait.

Why not find yourself a good low mileage CLK and buy it. You said you were interested in the E350 so as an owner I gave you my review after living with one. You can probably get a pretty good idea of the new 3 series by looking up the 6 series concept. BMW tends to share styling across their model lineup just making them smaller 3 series or bigger 7 series and everything in between.

I read throught all the threads for E-Coupe here and it seems that there are not too many issues with this new model.

So, it's right that the quality of MB is getting better.

This is a computer generated image of the new 3 Coupe from a site called Carscoop. It was generated from all the info Carscoop has been able to collect. I would think it is fairly accurate. As I said it takes it's styling cues from the new 5 and 7 series and from the 6 series concept.

I visited Carscoop and it was hard to judge the new 3-series because of all the disguises.

However, the 3-series in the attached image of your post is gorgeous. It does look like a smaller 6-series.

E coupe is a gorgeous car. Can't go wrong. I almost purchased one but I needed to be practical and get a sedan. Jumped into a new 5. Wasnt crazy about the e sedan.

The new 6 looks to be a winner, although pricey. If you have the patience why not wait for the new 3 and the C coupe and see which you like better. If you need a coupe now, E hands down! I love it

I found the 6-series too big. As for the C-Coupe, I saw a few pictures and I was not impressed. I read that they discontinued the C-Coupe already.

The only choices so far are E-Coupe and the new 3-series. I wish I see more 3-series spy shoots.

E350 Coupe
The C-Class Coupe has not been cancelled. It will be released sometime in 2011 and will be built in Bremen, Germany. AutoWeek magazine is reporting that the C will be built on a newly developed chassis which will be smaller than the current E class Coupe's. It is also rumored that in 2014 the productiom of the C-Class Sedan will be moved to Alabama. Which I'm sure is not going to be popular with a lot of C Class prospective buyers if it does in fact happen.

I found this link with pictures of the new C-Coupe.
http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/02/m...c-class-coupe/
This article came out on Apr-2010. Wonder how I missed it last time.

Not much information of the specs but it looks a whole lot better than the older C-Coupe. Wonder how MB will distinguish the 2 coupes.

the current 3 series is about 10cm shorter than a E coupe and u can't sit in the back
so it's better to compare the new 6 with the
new CLS which with AMG V8 turbo will blow away the 6 series........
(6 series might also be 4 door).
the merc interior always wins!!!!
