I have been searching to find a great color for the new E-Class coupe 2011. Not sure what i want anymore and with the internet 'confusing' colors, I am not sure what is exactly what. There is a few color variations of Grey. (the website below helps to give an idea but it is only a rendering)
Please post with 'real' pictures the different greys to help us all out. (make sure you are 100% sure of the color selection with the pics attached)
If you want to see an amazing Grey...it's BMW....stunning effect......it still blows my mind away....... look for Frozen Grey M3
I'm sorry but it is my opinion that photo has been altered using a technique called HDR or High Dynamic Range Software. The stunning effect is the photograph itself. I'm sure that it's a nice looking color but would need to see it in person. If you know that I am not correct please post. I could make the MAGO platinum Benz look exactely like the BMW photo.
YYZ-E55 you are making an error, check out the website i posted (for designo color, its MB Finland) to check out the different nuances of the grey they do not equal each other like you pointed out....this is why i started the thread in the 1st place to see these variations with real pictures..

As far as i know, and ive done my research, there are4 options for designo matte paint. One of them is not on the website.
Magno allanite grey (044 paint code) closest to iridium silver
Magno Platinum (051 paint code) Closest to palladium silver
Magno cashmere white (049 paint code)
And they also offer designo matte black. not sure what the code is, but i was pricing up an e550 coupe the other day, and it was a designo option.

049 is diamond white matte
The code for MAGNO night black is 056, which is magnetite black matte. It has not yet been released for the A/C 207 (will be released soon).
YYZ do you happen to have a pic of the magno night black 056...?
Btw steel grey...i know someone who has one of the few frozen black m3 competition...i saw it at night and the iridescence on it simply amazing....does not change color only shifts between dark metal and black....i have yet to see frozen grey..the pic i posted shows the effect i have seen the frozen effect with my own eyes (could be slightly shinier on the pic) ...anyone know how i could achieve this paint effect, shiny like it...thx
to correct myself....the effect is amplified by light.....which naturally occurs during the day....but at night with my headlights it gave an 'intense' iridescence.....
Fastandeasy here is MB's Frozen MAGNO. I didn't spend alot of time with this and it isn't a true HDR. With a true HDR I would have masked out the background so it would remain unaltered and then adjusted the MB only then merged the two photos. I am not questioning the beauty or uniqueness of BMW's colors just saying that the photo was altered.
