"My New 2012 E350 Coupe"-New Pix: Black-Red/Black
Here is a more complete picture set, friends.
I know there's a separate thread devoted to pix of these cars, but thought I'd highlight it here in view of the interest expressed in the new-to-the-U.S. red/black leather interior.
According to my dealer, this is the first '12 E350C to hit the Port of Baltimore with this exterior-interior color combo (until someone else here proves me a liar
).
The first shot of the new straight-line DRL's is with the headlights off. The second with the headlights on. I loved the hockey-stick lights on the previous models, but IMO this design better fits the car's aggressive character.
I'll post pix of the interior in another thread.
I hope these will be of interest. I'll be happy to respond to any additional questions or comments, especially as I gain more experience with this car.

"My New 2012 E350 Coupe"-New Pix: Red/Black Interior
I found it virtually impossible to capture the actual in-person color of the leather. Actually, it varies, depending on lighting conditions. These few are as close as I could get, for now. Whatever, I'm happy with the color.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I also added a couple shots of the fender badges advertising the new Direct Injection engine. Relax, the specks all over the last shot represent what my camera sometimes does when shooting a totally black field; it's not the paint.
I wish the badges said something other than "Efficiency." You know, like "BlueLightening" or "BlueMonster" or "BlueGetThe#$%!OutOfMyWay"....you get the idea.
Somehow, "Efficiency" doesn't quite fit the look of these cars.
No matter what color combo you have or desire, these cars are uniquely beautiful creations.

Re the color display, I don't see all that much "color" in the display, but I don't have all of the optional equipment that may better take advantage of it. The pix below show one of the basic screens. I'll play around with some of the other Display options when I get a chance.
Here's a link to a W212 thread with pix from a couple of folks who do have more of the optional equipment:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...1-e350-4m.html
Not me at the wheel. That's my very patient salesman, who kindly positioned the car for me a few times for pix and then spent about two plus hours going over it with me.
Can you clue me as to what "SW" is? Brain freeze here. I'm suffering from
MB multiple operating manuals overload.

Thanks Ryan. Much appreciated. I hope this may help with your decision, C vs. E coupe, if you haven't already made it.
I have to say, this car is really getting the stares. I'm amazed and not used to it. E coupes and cabs are uncommon around here. Not that the new C coupe would receive a ho hum response. It's just that this car, I guess especially in black, looks so baaaaaaaad on the road. Or should that now be "siiiiiiiiiick?"

Many thanks for combining my two separate picture threads into one here.
It didn't feel right posting two separate threads, but I couldn't figure out how to do it the right way. Now I get it.
As I said above, my brain is a victim of typical MB MOMO right now. "Multiple Operating Manuals Overload."
mbworld.org is a great gathering place and service!

Thanks Al :]
I haven't made my decision yet b/c I want to see the C coupe in person when it comes out around September. After seeing these photos I'm DEFINITELY leaning towards the "E". It just looks like it has more prestige and quality for the price... it's just beautiful.
I will definitely be doing black with red interior combo as well it's sick! (or bad lol). Regarding the navigation system is the onboard screen standard? Or do you only get the screen which basically controls every function with the command upgrade? Thanks for posting Al congratulations again it is GORGEOUS!

My car has the P2 package, which includes the P1 Package. BTW, the Harmon Kardon sound system is the best I've ever had in a car. Some have complained not enough bass or amp muscle. No complaints here. Then again, I'm kind of fond of my hearing.

nice automobile BenzMan! I bought one yesterday, delivers in the next few days and I can't wait. You're right any interior combo is great especially with Black exterior. I ordered the beige (camel-like color). I traded my Black Range Rover Sport for it. No money down i used the RR as downpayment. Eventually negotiated a monthly payment 85 dollars over my current payment on the RR. I am so pleased to say the least! Take care of that ride and happy motoring!!!

Your color combo will look very elegant, IMO. As you said, you can't go wrong with any choice. The unique lines of these cars are fabulous in just about any configuration.
I'm sure these next few days will be among the longest days of your life.
Best wishes to you and please post pix when convenient.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CAR!! i loove the E-Coupe.
the only thing that i WISH is that MB offered the AMG body kit for the E350 Coupes as well, and not just on the E550 Coupes.
this goes for the Cabrio as well
Regardless, SUCH a beautiful combination LOVE IT!

Thank you rhampar.
Curious how you would compare your E550 cab to your previous CLK500.
I only ask because there are a few folks on these forums who like to say that the E350/550 coupes and cabs are nothing more than updated versions of the CLK, rather than a 2-door version of the E Class sedans.
Having driven a CLK for several years and now driving this E Coupe, I think they're somewhat misinformed. This one feels like a true luxury sports coupe, a genuine Benz. As much as I loved my old CLK, it did not feel that way to me. This is just so much more car in every important respect, including performance, handling, features and (so far) impeccable finish.
I know it's not on the same chassis as the sedans, but it seems to me to be more closely connected to them than the former CLK.
That's my opinion; curious about yours.
Thanks.

Good to hear from you again RJC and thanks very much.
So far so good. I've never had so many people come up to me and say, "Beautiful car; what is it?" I'm having a ball.
September will be here before you know it. Unless, of course, you're spending all your time staring at the clock. You wouldn't do that, would you??
(I would, er..Did!).
Best wishes,
Al

I totally agree re the AMG lower body treatment. Aside from the fact that I felt the E350 coupe looked more aggressive in black and especially with the red/black interior, I also selected that color because I felt it kind of de-emphasized the somewhat passive lower body treatment. The AMG trim is definitely the way to go IMO with any color, but especially with lighter colors.

The pillarless design truly makes this car and sets it far apart from it's competitors and your color combo looks very sharp. Once you're past the break in tell us how the new engine comp's to the old version.
The end of Sept will be hear soon enough or do i tell myself...lol

Best,
The 2-door hardtop look goes back a long way. The very first car I could actually call my own had it. But the design of the roof line and of the car in general carries it out in a truly contemporary fashion in the E Coupes.
BTW, do you ever land?

I kid! I kid! Love vintage planes, especially WWII era. The B-17 is one of my favorites. And, from what I've heard and read, it was a hell of a workhorse.

Go to the collings foundation website and see when they'll be in your area so you can go for a flight; they have quite a collection of warbirds, the flying fortress is one if my favorites too. I've also flown in a Liberator. They are working on getting a B29 for the fleet which should be a treat.
The ME 262 is next on my list for a flight, the good Lord willing as I'm still having a very rough time after the nerve damage from the epidural injection; these things can be VERY dangerous with HIGHLY under-reported complication rates!
I am so happy you got your car and you waited for a 12

So sorry to hear of the continuing medical difficulty. I know how frustrating that can be, although not from personal experience. My cousin's husband suffered a similar experience. Coupled with degenerative spine issues, he had to take early retirement from a top position in an international corporation.
Many thanks for the tip re the Collings Foundation. Will check it out.
