I've been hearing 2-3 weeks for a build date (E550) then 4-6 weeks for US delivery. My car was made on last Friday so am expecting delivery sometime the end of November. Although they have been runnung a bit ahead of schedule.

I was told about the same - I just needed to hear it from someone other than the dealership - you know what I mean... I'm just amazed that there's not one in the US, in port, or on the water that hasn't been built or spoken for... It seems like what I'm asking for are pretty common combos and colors... thanks!

We ordered a E550 late Sept & were told December delivery. At this time we don't have a VIN.

Build Cycle

Coupe Lovers:

The E-550 Coupe was not released to be built until about 10/1. Because of initial limited parts availability, preference was given to the 2012 350C as they out sell the 550 by about 15 to 1.

Dealers had slots for the 550, but conversion to a build was not scheduled until 10/1. I suspect this is the reason the MBUSA site still does not have any information on the 550C.

The first should arrive about the end of November. Mine has to travel to LA. East Coasters have a slight advantage.

Waiting in South San Francisco

Ehh, there's one in California, but it's a P2 and don't want to pay they extra for it... I'm hoping the dealership can work some magic since this will be my 3rd car from them in a year - that may be "my cost of early acquisition" fee if not... fingers crossed...

Well, they weren't willing to comp me the P2 package on the Cali car, so today I put my order in for one to be built. It'll be sweet if I can get before my trip to Memphis. The 12 hour drive from Florida will probably seem less burdensome in the new ride...

Ps. did the same trip last year in the new GLK - oddly enough, not that much fun...

I just ordered the E550 Cabrio a couple of days ago to be built. My ETA is ~ 3 months in Canada (12 weeks!) They said I should expect delivery in January, or February. (Waiting is hard!)

I imagine there's less units being produced in the Cabrio style. I also imagine there's a lot more hands-on construction and hand fitting with the top... Best of luck to you, that's a gorgeous car...

Yea, Coincendently, my GLK will be almost ready to give back by the time the E is ready for delivery - and with Winter coming, I can't say thats much of a bad thing. So no rush.

and I agree, I fell in love with the new E body in '09, and when they released the Cab last year I just knew I had to have it

A little nervous for winter with it, but 4 snow tires should get me through

Hey, how do you like your GLK? I have a 2011 non-4Matic, I think you guys up north can only get 4Matic. I switched to OEM 20's, Powerchiped the ECU, OEM trailer hitch, added a strut tower bar, added HID and swapped the front speakers out with OEM HK's - and now I want a car again - figures. I have to pull all that stuff off (except the hitch and HIDS), before I turn it in next Saturday. It's a good CUV, but I know both of us are going to be happier in the long run...

Haha, I loved it when I first got it - but boy am I bored of it now. It just doesn't feel like a Mercedes On the other hand, when I test drove the E350 Cab (they didnt have any 550s on the lot), The difference was night and day, so much comfort.

I'm sure we will love the new ride way more now I can't wait for summer again and winter hasn't even started!

I got slotted for the second "decade" (?) of November, I'm guessing I should see it at the dealership around the 20th of December...

As to US delivery, things have been up to 2 weeks ahead. My car is supposed to be here this week or next but might be tied up in NJ with that snow storm they had. Origonally was planning on the begining of Dec. Let you know when it arrives.
