Snow Driving
Also has anyone tried putting snow tires on it to see if that helps?
I've found Michelin top tier winter tires to be very effective in the past. Fortunately, I don't have to take the new E350C out of the garage in bad weather.
If you have the type of transmission in which you can choose E or S driving mode, if you're in significant snow and/or ice, also try keeping the car in E mode and choose third gear as your top running gear. That will effectively start you from a stop in second gear and keep you between second and third full time, which may reduce wheel spin and improve traction overall. It will also provide shift points and characteristics a bit more compatible with poor road traction conditions than those of S mode, which are designed for performance.

got up the street i live on nice hill unplowed 3-4inches alittle bit of esp came on but
not to much.... 4 snows on any rear wheel drive car with esp and slip control make it almost feel like a 4matic
