Wheels advices for 2014E550 coupe

Wheels advices for 2014E550 coupe

I just picked up my new 2014 E550 coupe 2 weeks ago, it is a wonderful car, but the stock 18" AMG wheels are sucks that can not handle 402HP and so much big N, so i am considering to change 19" new light forged wheels for my ride.

I have checked tire rack, unfortunately they do not have any rims available to this new cars, i called them, they told me that i have to wait couple weeks.

I found volk rims are very nice and more lighter but there is a problem about their spec of wheels. my stock 18" AMG rims are PCD 5-112, centre bore 66.5mm, bolt thread is M14*1.5.

The ET of volk wheels is 45, I think ET will be fit to my 2014 E550 coupe, but other specs of volk wheels are not same with AMG, volk's PCD is 5-100, bore is 65mm, can anyone tell me whether this wheels are fit to my car? Different PCD and BORE are big problems? THanks.

if the wheels you're looking at aren't 5x112 with a 66.65 center bore they simply won't fit. If they're 5x112 with a larger CB e.g. 73.1 you can get ally hub rings or plastic rings to reduce to 66.65 but may suffer a little from steering vibrations.

You can get hub adapters to convert from _x___ to 5x112 but I don't see the point.

The offsets which will fit range from ET35 to ET50 so as long as you're within that range but bear in mind the width of the rim - 9, 9.5, 10 etc as that will affect the viability of the offset.

Consider the tires when you upgrade too, wide (285) Michelin PSS Cups work well with big power demands from the 550.

There are plenty of vendors on here who would be able to sort you out with some forged lightweight 19s so get in touch with one of them and see if they can help you.

thanks bro, very knowledgeable info, right now i am considering HRE wheel, i have contacted
them, they can custom wheel what I need, but price,lol, sky high.

19" x 8.5 ET40 Front
19" x 9.5 ET45 Rear
255/35 front tires
285/30 rear tires

This is handy info to know. I have ordered my E550 couple for Euro delivery and I ordered it with hte standard 18" AMG wheels. There are 19' AMG wheels avaiable as on options but the wheels & tires are close to 3K extra... Worth the extra 3K in your opinion? teh other thing that gets me about the car is the fact that since the front and rear tires are offset size wise, they can't be rotated. I'll be buring thru tires anyway, so the 18 inchers would be less expensive.

I don't think those MB optional 19" wheels are worth it as they are the same width as 18" (8.5" rear) so hardly any (if any at all) gain in traction and much increased chance of dented rims with the lower 30 series profile tires.
