MB Extended Warranty on 2011 Cabrio? Worth It
Warranty just expired but the dealer said I still have the chance to get a 3 year 75k warranty for $2800 and a 3 year 100k warranty for $4138.
Since this car as a ton of features and the soft top, is it worth it to get the extended warranty? Anyone else have it and could chime in ?
Thanks!
I was going to do one on my 2012 BMW x3 but declined after reading many terrible experiences with the 3rd party warranty companies. I only had one OEM extended warranty since 1978 and that was for my Lexus 2006 Sc 430 (bought it due to the complicated convertible roof- but never had a problem with it. I sold the car and was refunded the portion that was left). The Lexus EW was also quite cheap when compared to the ones for BMW. I paid $1800 for 3 yrs/75k (I don't put many miles on the car. Sold it with 26k miles) BMW was really expensive $3-4k if I am recalling correctly.
Great that you had no problems.
I just thought if anyone else with an E or CLK Cabrio can chime in about the Dealers warranty.
If they had issues with the soft top fabric, or motors, and had it covered and replaced under warranty.
I have pretty good insurance - and I am expecting if anything major was to happen it is going to be an accident, not a warranty issue.
Thanks guys for the help and input!
