Power Folding Mirrors

Now that I've finished the Parktronic retrofit I'm turning my attention to power folding mirrors for my E350 Cabriolet. It appears that this is not a typical option for the 2011 E350.

I believe power folding mirrors are not an option for North American models at all. Europe and Canada had power folding mirrors...

Anyone know how to check if you have power folding mirrors? I have a canadian car and haven't seen anything showing how to operate them

I wonder if MBUSA will allow a datacard upgrade for them in the USA

Have a look at your mirror adjustment panel. Above the arrow pad, there's 2 buttons for L and R mirror. If you have a button in the middle of these, then you have folding mirrors. Mine unfortunately doesn't.

So you are saying that the USA modules need to be replaced with Canadian or EU one? I have no problem sourcing that, but will it support the Blind Spot as well? I'm not sure of the exact part number that has BS and Fold. I have several examples of PNs that do have folding, but not sure will they support the BS.

Of course folders are possible, the question is how much effort and $. I like mine, but really all I use if for is to see if I remembered to lock the car.
I certainly wouldn't know what's involved, but if anyone would I think it would be BenzNinja. And I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to ask him.

nautical; are you sure you'd want blind spot assist? I turned mine on once. Turned it off minutes later. It's worse than those old school seat belt chimes, imo. I very much dislike safety devices, but this one especially, and everyone I know also hates it. So if you've never used one before, I'd be wary.

LOL, that's pretty much what I do, visual cue to confirm it's locked...

I've actually grown to appreciate blind spot assist. When I drive my old Rangie, I miss the blind spot assist and brake hold, but that's not enough for me to buy a modern Rangie to get those features. I'm also leery of many of the driver assist features in modern cars...
