Does the C207 (2010-2011) 7G Tronic Require Transmission Fluid Change

I'm reading conflicting reports online, does the 7G Tonic Transmission Require a fluid and filter change per MB recommendations?

Have a 2010 E550C here.

Also, is the E350C and E550C transmission the same?

Yes !! I have the E 350 CDI Cab, and they changed the oil/fluid and filter after 2 years ? x miles. It is definitely part of the maintenance schedule, so I would have it done !!!!!!
Unfortunately the fluid is not cheap so it appears to be expensive for what it is and I think many people fail to have it done........ unless you have a maintenance contract

The service interval for a 10 E550 is 4 yr 40k... or to be done with the 40k sevice interval.
The newer fluid it has been extended to 7 70

As with other replies - definitely required. I am getting mine done as part of the 50K Service B which I am having done next week.
Service Advisor stated cost as $400.

Just went to a free spring service inspection and the dealer told me the car needed a transmission service fluid, filter etc. The car has 46K miles and recently had its "A" service. When I tried to schedule the car for the tranny service they couldn't get me in because of the free spring service inspections they were doing! I called my other dealer in West Chester and they said bring it over and we'll fit you in. They also charged $100 less than the "busy dealer."

I am in the UK and my dealer did it last December (3 years with 34K) as part of the maintenance schedule for the model, I do have a Mercedes Service package for 4 years which ends in 2016, whilst it costs, it works out being a much better deal than taking each service as and when, and I also cover things like the transmission fluid without thinking about the direct cost. for those still in the warranty window it is worth investigating the service package????? Actually works out to be a large saving over the 4 years......
I have also taken out an extended warranty for 3 years, ( I had to pay for the new wind deflector (aircap)above the windscreen, £1200 ouch as my car is out of warranty and it is the 3rd one on the car).....To be fair to Mercedes they did make a large contribution.

E350 Coupe
I just had my 2010 E350 Coupe in yesterday for it's 4 year maintenance. The total cost was $1319.06. They serviced the trans, did an oil change, changed the intake filters, changed the in-cabin filter, drained the brake fluid and refilled and installed new wiper blades. Getting routine maintenance on these cars is not cheap!!! I plan on keeping the car a few more years and like having a verifiable maintenance trail.

wiper blades and filter done at home would cost you a lot less.. even oil change if you can do it.

Has someone done the trans fluid n filter change?

I have read different things of when this thing has to be done, like, I would change fluid & filter every 60,000Km's like other Benz transmissions
or that you should change it every 3 years or 31k miles.
This is for the 7G tronic plus

Mine was done after three years , about 30,000 miles as part of Mercedes-Benz own service contract, I was surprised they did it when they did as I had expected about 60/70k miles, My last BMW had lifetime oil, which I think is a load of crap, so happy that Mercedes follow a different approach.

Good to know man.

Better to change it based on mileage or in terms of years?
I have read the procedure, it says you need STAR to do it (to measure the fluid temperature)
Where can I get this STAR equipment?

Well, given the time and mileage (40K) required, don't have to do it.

But, I still want to know which STAR equipment is the best buy.

I already have WIS and brake fluid change is something to be done more often.
