Well, I have had my car back home from Germany for almost a week now and I've come to some observations about it so far that I wanted to share.

- Strangers approach me randomly and admire the car and want to talk about it. I really can't go anywhere without being approached. Having the car parked wheile getting gas is a particular draw. I had this babe staring at me (the car) filling it up and she eventually walks on over and says and I swear " Nice car..i'f i were wearing panties i'd throw them in". I was in shock for a half a minute and said now that just made my day.

- People walking down the street stop and turn and look at it. My wife "who typically isn't all that observant" thought the behavior was interesting. it happens a lot.

- My male neighbors are envyous. I felt a little weird being the only guy with a Mercedes on the block until the guy from a few houses down stopped by (I've never talked to this guy, but he saw the car in the driveway and had to look at it) who told me that he just bought a 2010 E Class sedan). He said, "thank god i'm not the only one on the block with a Mercedes anymore. Your car officially makes mine looks like a POS". I replied with some refernce to him not having to take the depreciation hit that I did.

- When I'm not worried about someone running into me who is trying to get a closer look, the car is just a dream to drive. I love everyting about it. I really never got a chance to really enjoy it in Europe since I was so focused on getting to each destination during our relatively short stay in Europe.

- if there was a downside to the whole process, I would have to say that the redelivery was a disappointment. I used Herbert Haemmer for the sale and eveything with him went good until it was redelivery time. When I got the call that my car was in from my local dealer, I felt like they were doing me a favor. they wanted me to get the car right away and when I went to pick it up the car wasn't prepped. They claimed that Herbert told them not to prep it. Dealing with Herbert for all those months up to that point I have a hard time believing that he would do that. In typically after the sale fashion, when I told Herbert about the experience, he never e-mailed me back. Life goes on I guess. I did complaign to the receving dealer about it and they had me bring the car back so they could fill the tank (they gave it to me with 1/4 tank) and a free detail down the road. Car should have never beeen delivered that way.

Bottom line....love the car. Have to accept the fact that other love it too and want to tell me so..

Similar experience here... I am on my 4th Mercedes and my current '14 E350 Cabriolet gets way more looks than any of my previous cars. The '14 styling in the coupe/cab is really a head turner. I can hear people walking by whisper about what a great looking car it is while I am parked and feeding the meter. I also notice a lot more BMW and Audi driver's turning their head as I pass by. Too funny.

That's too funny. Makes me want to buy a 2014!

 

Sorry..i should have posted some pics. I'll try and get a few up soon once the weather clears up. In the meantime, here's a link to a youtube vid i posted of my wife and I picking up the car at the MB Delivery Center in Germany. Only difference with the car is I had the spoiler package installed at the port in Baltimore.

 

Great choice! I intend to do the EDP on my next Benz. I almost did for this one. The experience looks awesome, and I've never heard anything bad about it.
