Talking About to pull trigger...which wheels?

Hi,

I've been looking for wheels for the last little while now and I think I've decided on what style I want to go with. There seem to be quite a few brands that make similar 5 spoke designs. I've seen the Vossen CV3 and like them, but it seems to me that they're charging quite a bit for cast wheels. Stance makes a wheel similar to them but I can get those for quite a bit less. Same thing with Ruffino (not sure how popular they are). The Niche Milan is also similar as well. TSW Sochi, however, seems to be the only forged wheel in the same price range as the Vossen CV3.

I can get a set of the Ruffino Boss or Niche Milan for about half the price of a set of CV3s. Stance SC-5ive for about same as CV3. The TSW Sochi is just about the same as the CV3s as well but are forged (therefore lighter, and supposedly more durable).

If I went with TSW, I'd have the option to go 18", but the other options are limited to 19" at a minimum.

So...which rims would you guys recommend?

Thanks!

Cool

~ I like the Vossen in the 19's... runner up Niche in the Silver finish.

my 2 cents...put whatever you want or can afford. their wheels mate. after a couple of months you'll want a different set. dont lose too much sleep on them.

Haha, I suppose that's true. I'm wondering how much ride quality will suffer and how much more likely 19" rims will crack/dent vs 18"

I have Vossens myself. I think it depends on if you like that step look inside the barrel of the wheel. Vossen pushed it towards the back, but it looks like the Niche ones don't have that step.

The Stance style of wheel looks amazing when the width of the wheel allows for concavity. The offsets and brakes on the front of our cars don't allow for much concavity and, in my opinion, make the Stance wheels look weird.

Where do you live and drive?? I'm in the NY/NJ area and had 18's on my last Benz and was replacing a tire a month, not to mention repairing my rims from the constant ****ty roads. Not meaning to discourage you ,but just a kind word to let you know what you may be up against...Good Luck with your purchase

I'd go with the Vossen's, they definitely have the best off-set/flush look. I'm with Andre c coupe, Niche is silver finish will look really good. What tires are you planning to run? I currently have 20 inch Pirellis PZNero's (I think summer performance) on my set-up. They run pretty ok, the original tires were Pirellis too but they were 18's and they were really smooth and quiet.

i sure hope youre exaggerating. never heard of anybody changing a tyre every month and repairing them not to mention youve got 18s. maybe the road isnt the problem, maybe its the driver. considered goin to specsavers?

i recently installed 20s on my wifes coupe from oem 18s. you wont believe it but even with 30 series tyres, the ride felt better straight away. i was surprised myself. well given that the e coupe does not have the smoothest ride, it just felt better and more connected to the road.

ride "might" be compromised a bit but thats just how is it. just be extra careful with potholes and curbs.

Live and drive in Toronto. There have been a few cases where I've hit a pothole and was just "WTF?!", but the wheels seemed ok still. This is with the stock 18" AMG wheels as well as the stock non-AMG wheels.

Thinking about the Continental DWS06 - 245 in front and 275 in rear...but not sure which wheel and size to go with.

No exaggeration Brother.....The roads in NY/NJ are screwed and after inclimate weather ,the various counties are not on top of road repair..My rims were applied and balanced appropriately taking into consideration the size of the rims.....and I've been driving for almost 40 years.....so while I truly appreciate your input,I doubt strongly that it's 'the driver'...LMAO!!

I can definitely attest to "ruffrob's" comments about the roads being bad in NJ/NY. the roads are so bad that I only drive the "E coupe" during the day time hours lol so I don't fall victim to the potholes in the night time. dwl.

I've driven there on a long weekend and have noticed that the roads there are significantly worse than the ones in Toronto. I was pretty much spending the entire time trying to avoid potholes. Some looked like they could swallow a wheel.
