Issue with 2017 Coupe Navi voice volume.

Had the car for over a month already first time using Navi. I had the radio on when I used the navi. It was hard to hear the navi without turning the radio down, but when the radio volume is lowered, the navi volume is affected also! I could not switch off the radio because then the navi is off also!

Any way to lower the radio volume without lowering the navi voice also? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. How do you set the volume different from the radio volume?

The simple way is to press the volume up button on the steering wheel when the NAVI is speaking. Only works while the NAVI speaks.

Yea, but the radio volume goes up the same time. That's why the navi volume has to be set differently. MB electronics are not intuitive, like other German makes.

Make sure the only thing playing is the NAVI voice when you adjust the volume.

No, it shouldn't be raising the volume of the radio too. You just have to do it quick when the navi voice is giving you instructions. Once you hear the navi talking, quickly increase or decrease the volume from your steering wheel. That should only change the volume of the navi, not the radio. When the navi instructions stop if you keep adjusting the volume it will adjust the radio volume.

Thanks, I will try this. My previous car cuts off the radio automatically when navi speaks. Radio comes back when navi stops. Of course, it was not a German car!

Your car should do the same thing. Radio volume drops, navigation instruction given, radio volume goes back up.

Schedule to take it in and have it looked at. It is misbehaving.

Not sure if you're still having a problem with this, but there is a fadeout setting in my 2016 E400 Coupe with COMAND. In Navigation mode, select:

Options > Settings > Audio Fadeout

From the owner's manual: "Audio Fadeout - The volume of an active media source is automatically reduced during a navigation announcement."
