my front wind deflector cant retract

I have a 2014 Cabrio...it’s new to me. When is the front wind deflector above the windshield supposed to pop up? Mine has only popped up once...and it was squeaky. Is there a certain speed limit that it should come up? Is it automatic, or do I need to somehow activate it, to make it work?

I think by 2014 there is an automatic deployment, my 2011 is either up or down with the button.

You do have to press the button to activate it. Once activated, it varies with the speed.
I did hear that there was a “Fix” for it to not move with the speed. I think it was because he constant movement caused the motors to fail.

my 13 did not vary. Once up it stayed up unless I pressed the button to close it or I shut the roof.
