what is the best AGM battery for E550 ?

I've read on these forums that Pep Boys sells Bosch AGM batteries for our cars at a very competitive price. I think sometimes it's cheaper to order parts from them online and then go pick them up in the store. They usually have discounts or coupons posted on their website you can use to save money.

For optimum performance you need to reset the battery throughput value in the front SAM, but I don't know if the 212 has it. The new model cars do by 2014, even the older 221 S class had it. Gotta be done with an SDS though, not aware of another way.

An alternative is the Batteries+Bulbs Duracell (AKA WallyMao Everstart) platinum group size AGM MAXX-H8 battery . It is rated at 900 cold cranking amps, 50 more than the Bosch, and its $40 less expensive.
Bosch (they only make batteries in Europe and license their name to Pep Boys) and Everstart batteries are made on the same assembly line, just have different stickers put on the outside of the box. There are only 2 manufacturers in the US - Johnson Controls (Advanced Auto's AutoCraft and Interstate) and Exide.

why wouldnt you just get an OEM Mercedes Varta Battery? They are not that much more and have an 4 year unlimited replacement warranty, not that lame "pro-rated" warranty you get from aftermarket batteries. I'm going on almost 6 years with the same battery in my E55..
