Lowering Springs

I have a 2012 E550 cab and want to lower the car a bit. What would be the best springs to lower the car about an inch without sacrificing too much of the ride quality? Would replacing the springs affect the sport mode?

I've seen H&R springs for this chassis which lower the car about 1.5" all around.
Ride quality shouldn't suffer much but I don't know if it'll do anything to sport mode (not sure what changes in that mode)

I have h&r springs on my 2012 550 coupe, lowered around an inch all around. Ran 17mm spring pads in the rear because the h&rs tend to lower the back a little more than the front for some reason. Ride quality is still great, and as long as the struts are all plugged back in properly after installation sport mode will still function the same as stock.

Congrats on the new ride! I hope u enjoy your 550 coupe as much as I enjoy mine! Steal away! I've always really liked the look of gold watches with a grey dial, figured the color scheme would look good on a car as well. I waffled between a more rose gold color and this one for a while, but went with the more bronze tone in the end (prismatic powders "gonze" over a brushed wheel). Happy modding!

Does anyone have a part number for the H & R sport springs for a 2012 E550 cabriolet? I can't seem to find them, thinking they may not make them for the cab.

Looks like the OE part numbers for the springs are interchangeable for coupe and cab, imagine that means the same for aftermarket items. Think u should be fine using the springs for the coupe

I emailed several vendors and it appears the H & R springs will not fit an E550 cab. It does looks like the same OEM rear coil spring fits either the cab or coupe. And the H & R sport springs will fit the E350 cab. I would think there would not be any difference between the rear suspension on the E550 cab and the E550 coupe or E350 cab, but I guess there is. Also, no vendor suggested any alternatives.

Has anyone installed lowering springs on their cabriolet?

E Class Coupe E350
Hi crazy00c230k, love the look of your car.
I have just bought a Black 2009 E Coupe E350, changed from a Boxster S, and loving the experience.
I am looking to do a few bits and bobs. Lower with H&R springs and get some nice new 19 inch wheels. What size of wheels do you have and have you used wheel spacers for the stance? thanks buddy.

Thanks! The wheels are 19x8.5 et37 19x10.5 et50, running 245/35 tires up front, 275/30 in the rear. No spacers, pretty much no rubbing.

Were you able to resolve this? I have a 2017 E550 Cab and can't find a manufacturer that supports lowering springs or coilovers for this model.

I was able to find Bilstein lowering suspension kits that seem to be compatible with the E550 Cab. My search was based on the 2017 MY, but it seems to be compatible with earlier years too.

I've got a 3mo old H&R set on my 550 coupe that I'm about to take off in a couple weeks. Who wants to work something out, I'm 99.999% sure they will work on the cab? The front of the cab and the coupe body are the same, the difference is in the rear and those rear oe spring part numbers match
...we can figure out a price, try them out, if they don't fit I'll take them back. Also, btw no complaints at all they are great, ride is great, dynamic suspension still works fine. I also did notice the rear was a few mm lower. I'm taking them off to go to KW coilovers, I just want to go lower. Also, I'm stand up guy, Im on YouTube as Ren Sam, you don't have to worry I won't ghost if they don't fit

That's the exact stance I was looking for! I'm looking to get the H&R Springs for my 2017 E550 Coupe, anyone know if this is the right parts?

Also, the spring pads, any idea where I can order the right one to install for the same?

Thanks!
