Just like the title says. I get this error even though the back seats are clearly latched and won't move. I've let em down and up numerous times to no avail. Has anyone encountered this issue? Wondering if it is a computer error or some aspect of the locking mechanism.

Without pulling codes, most likely one of the switches same part # for both sides 2048701251. Feeling ambitious, check ground points and pins 25/26 @ rear SAM connector.

Thanks, your the man with the answer as usual. It shows no codes for this issue. Is it possible to clear this error and just see if it comes back? I'll give the ground points a shot... where are they located for the left? Also going to check out the fuses.

I attempted changing the switch part to no avail last night. I get the code " B1DCD13 - Switch ' Left rear backrest release and locking' has a malfunction. There is an open circuit "

Was wondering what the easiest way to access the rear sam connector.

Anyone know the location of the grounding points? From the picture it looks like its near where the rear speakers in the trunk are but not sure.

Yea I’ve been trying to figure out location based on the picture but not sure. Is it near the rear sam or in the trunk near speakers like I mentioned? Also wondering if one of the wires in the bar that holds the latch could be punctured causing the short. Is there a way to inspect inside the bar?

How about checking under the front seats.

I will check that out... but is this where the grounding point for a rear seat latch would be seems like an odd place?

1) Never question konigstiger : )

2) Actually not an odd place, its a common ground and a lot of different circuits terminate there...

I never resolved it but I’m fairly sure one of the stereo installers damaged a wire inside the bar that houses the latch because I moved my amp and noticed the holes they drilled were right next to it. I’ve just lived with the error as the seat clearly latches and unlatches mechanically without issue.
