Awesome.. which tires are you on? What was your 60 foot?

I replaced the Pirelli all season tires on the back with Michelin Pilot sport PS2 summer only tires. They are a lot stickier and helped me go 1.78 and 1.79 in the 60 ft. The good quality air helped a lot too

2013E550C:
I have a '13 350 coupe and have been looking for a '13 550 coupe for years. Coupe only, no exceptions, and only with acceptable miles and in/out colors. And '13 because I want a frikkin shifter! Why did they take that from us?!?! Wtf?
So after I read the #'s you posted, I felt it move... You've also recharged my desire to get said toy so I'll be looking extra hard.
So humor me, please, and tell me all the track #'s for the car as it was stock, and after, and which tune you got? The site says they have a stage 1 & 2. My guess is the power they post on the site is stage 2? I'd also assume 2 needs more octane than the 91 I can get?
While I'm here, any tranny mods available? The way mine shifts is rather annoying, plus way too slow/soft. So slow I often sit there against the rev limiter waiting for it to shift. I assume a 550 will have the exact trans and programming, if so I imagine you're annoyed as well but maybe had better luck finding a cure?

Yeah, funny, I like the shifter too ! But that's a thing of the past,,,, oh well. Before the tune my best times were 12.4X 's with 60 ft in the 1.90 's. If I goofed up at the line and went above 2.0 the
times went in the high 12's. (best time 12.44 @ 112. After the tune best times were 12.05 and 12.07 @ 114 -115. Biggest problem was air quality, couldn't get a nice day. This latest time it
was a nice day.... cool and clear.
I think the tune is stage 2 ? Maybe OE can step in and answer. They can tune for the octane you have available. My is a 93 tune. I do add a couple gallons of race gas also when I run.
The tranny is untouched. Seems to shift good in the lower gears and gets slower in the higher gears ??????

Thanks for the info
My Chevota did 12.67 but since it was a 4x w/ 33" mudders it was a brick in the wind so my trap speed was ~105. Had to race in 4wd to get traction but despite my tall gears (60mph in first) I was able to do the 1/8th in 8.0 and 60' time was 1.78. It was actually a bit quicker a couple years later but I never went back to the track because they said I had to have driveshaft loops front n rear. They told me that after my third pass so I never even had a chance to see what my best time could've been.
0-60 was 3.9sec, per my G-Tech accelerometer, and I was pretty happy with that for general streetlight confrontations, and sand drags or racing up sand dunes which is a thing at Glamis. Google it if you're curious. I've never had a car that could come close to matching it, and I think this E 350 just may be the quickest car I've had. So getting back that 0-60 time would be awesome...

I finally found an E550 I liked
Pretty happy with the power as-is, but of course I installed the OE Tune within three days... The car certainly looks better and it has twice the power, but really that's it, everything else is the same or worse.
***** list:
It's a '16 model so first and foremost above all else is the shifter, meaning where the F is it? I keep reaching for it, especially when I really need it. So after I realize it's gone I reach for the wheel, but often I'm in a turn so I'm fumbling to find it and when I do I wonder which one I have. I just don't see how anyone can make the decision to remove the console shifter in a sports car? People say "you'll get used to it" but so far that hasn't happened in the slightest and I predict never will. Fortunately with the added torque I don't need to shift as much, but I still do many times to/from work or anywhere else. What also sux is when I manually force a downshift it'll simply go back to auto after a short time and upshift. I think it's maybe 10 seconds? It's just insult on injury saying "we took more than the shifter".
It also doesn't decelerate with the engine very well. I used to downshift (engine brake) a lot in the 350, and I'd lock it in first or second when in traffic so I could simply let off the gas instead of brake. This engine is one third larger so I assumed a third more eng braking, but what I got is one third braking. I blame the tranny most, but believe emission controls are second.
It also doesn't handle or corner as well. It literally handles like a totally diff car. For now I'll blame the tires but I think it's much more than that.
It has the illuminated grille emblem so I unplugged that. Also has lit door sills which literally blind me like a paparazzi when I open the door at night, so until I dig in and find the wires I put black masking tape over them. The parking lights come on when I open the car, and stay on for a bit after I exit and close it. I hate this feature. I hate any unnecessary lights...
The interior is all black, including the roof liner, all except for these bright super annoying warning labels on the visors which constantly catch my eye. I didn't even read them, but what it should say is "Warning, column shifters are lame and dangerous". So now I have to figure out how to remove those without screwing up the leather.
The seats look virtually identical but not as comfortable and certainly don't grip me as well. They feel half way between what I had and a bench seat. So I often wonder if design teams are retarded, or even comprised of humans because a newer car should be a better car, not just more modern looking.
Oh, lastly; some JA drove three huge sheet metal screws into the front bumper to attach a lic plate holder! Not an oem issue but the dealer did this so it's part of the ***** list. So now I have to do body and paint work to fix that disaster.

Hey Chevota, cant answer most of concerns about handling because I'm a straight line guy. See a straight road and hit the gas ! You never know whats around a corner. I actually like this car because it doesn't handle
like a sports car (stiff). Its as fast as an AMG yet drives like a dream. My last two Mercedes came from Florida hence no front plates. How can you drill holes into the body of a $ 70-80k car ????

I can almost always see around the corners, and in the rare case I can't then I drive a speed I can stop in time. Mostly all I get is freeway on/off ramps and 99% of the time I'm stuck behind someone, but that 1% I like to take advantage. Still don't know what 100mph feels like, and only got close to that twice so far, again traffic.
No drag races yet, 3000miles so far and I've only been first at a street light a couple times. Based on experience it takes about a year to be first at a light next to someone willing, but that someone also having a worthy car will likely never happen. I do have a race planned against a friend with a C63, just have to find the time/place, if possible. I failed to mention I upgraded cars so he's in for a shock
I improved the trans a little bit with a thing called a T-Box that plugs into the OBD2 port and is supposed to set and lock the trans to its most aggressive level. It has drawbacks tho so I uninstalled it, and am undecided if I'm better off with or without it...
I also found a new trans gripe; if the door is not closed all the way it'll throw itself into park while moving! So I guess I'll have to short the door switch, which will hopefully solve some other gripes too.
I looked deeper into reprogramming the trans and other stuff but apparently you can't unless you know the actual MB computer code, so I'm screwed. Like that file OE tuning made, did you open it and look at it? Omg, no way to figure that out unless you have a program to decompile it and make sense of it, which makes me wonder how the tuning places do it. Must be exactly that program out there somewhere...
So I wanted to ask if you looked into other tunes like Eurocharged? They offer two tunes; 530/606 & 580/695. That second one seems kinda high so I assume it's estimated crank based on chassis dyno but I just don't know, but either way I'm wondering how the OE compares. I asked OE about it, and if they offer a better tune than I bought, but so far no reply. I also asked if octane made a difference with what I have, as in maybe my knock sensor is dialing boost and/or timing back because of temp or whatever and bumping octane would make a difference? Seems reasonable since the car certainly seems slower when it's hot out. What are your thoughts?
I wanted to tell you I tried these floor mats and they're pretty sweet: https://tinyurl.com/ycxaxn7c
My interior is black, even the head liner, so of course I got black. It covers virtually all the carpet and the fit is surprisingly good. They look much better than the picture btw, which made me nervous but I rolled the dice. I can post pix of mine if you're interested.

Hi Chevota, I only looked around a bit at the different tunes and chose OE based on good feedback from this forum. Also one
of the least expensive. The feedback that I liked was no other problems encountered after install. Power level was middle of
the road 500/600. (93 tune)
I do add a couple gallons of VP racing fuel (MS109) at the track. It cant hurt ? When I asked OE about the other tuners making
more hp they replied that their tune is optimized.
That C63 better watch out !

My current fastest quarter mile is 11.3 @ 122mph with a 1.73 60'(3.5 sec 0-60), spinning all the way through 1st gear.
Stage 1 is their base tune, and stage 2 is "catless" tune, the only difference is really turning off the Catalyst monitors(removal of catalyst is where extra power comes from).
The TCU tune is friggin' AWESOME! I have serious traction issues now, and I'm AWD! I'll be getting some drag radials next month and am shooting for the 10's by the end of the year.
My ECU tune is custom and not available to the public yet, but hopefully it will be able to be offered sometime late this year or early next year.
The only other mods I have other than tunes is TSW Bathurst 19x8.5 & 19x9.5 wheels with 245/35 & 285/30 Kumho PS91 tires, AMG in tank pump, and 3" catless exhaust.

I run a consistent high 1.7X 60 ft with no wheel spin with rear wheel drive. Have Michelin Pilot sport PS2 tires on the rear. Come off the line from idle. Any spin and the run is done ….. 12's . Problem
with our cars is we make too much torque at low rpm …… 600 ft/lbs +

AWD Sedans cannot get those kind of numbers. Best I could do before the TCU tune was a 1.97 60' (12.0 @ 118)on a 285/30r19. I run high 1.7's now, spinning. hoping for a high 1.5 or very low 1.6 when I get Drag Radials.
Radials should get me really close to a 10 sec pass. Hopefully when the hot-*** texas weather cools off, a high 10 will be in the cards.

Nice talk, I am running stage-2 EC tune, very happy with it, have yet to go to the track but going to do a dyno run shortly. Mine is NA engine so I can't imagine how fast is bi-turbo (driven stock once and was impressed) after tune.
@nota_amg I think the weight difference is minimal. Just my 2c:
2012 e550 biturbo sedan curb weight: 3773lbs
2010 e550 coupe curb weight: 3720lbs
I don't know if there is any way to actually weight our cars, really curious to know the exact weight since I have resonator delete+headers plus whole bunch of stuff (car-seats, tools, floor mats etc.) in my car daily.

WIN ER, I had the same motor in my last car CLK550. Really liked it and was pretty fast. Never got to track with it but looking at the Dragtimes website there was
a few entries. Stock they ran low 13's and with just a tune into the 12's. With all your mods you should be solidly in the 12's. The CLK and Ecoupe are same
sized car, I think both being built on the C coupe frame.
