Help me choose which model

Hi all, finally I'm getting my first Mercedes this car will be used only by me, mostly for work and driving around, we have another brand new SUV which is used by wife. I have decided to buy one of the used E-class Coupe or C-class Coupe. I work in IT but have 0 clue about the cars, and I'm buying in Ireland so I'm limited with what can I get. My options are below if someone can help me choose? As said, I don't car for speed or how much is using gas, only thing I'm concerne about is that has a good engine, reliable, I keep my car regulary serviced etc. From below two models I like both, but don't know which would be a better choice for me if someone with experience can give me some advices that would be great. Thank you in advance.

Option 1 - E-class coupe:

2015 E220 CDI Bluetec AMG (2.1 Diesel) with 58k miles
2014 E250 CDI 2.1 Diesel with 82k milee

Option 2 - C-class coupe:

2016 C220D Coupe
2017 C180 Coupe

Go with the E-class with the bigger engine. It also depends on the mileage. The c-class will be more nimble. E-class has better built quality as well.

Dear Sashabceo,

Welcome to MB and hope you enjoy the fuure of having a MB vehicle. So you knew the C-class sedan/coupe/convertible (W204 body frame) and E-class coupe/convertible (W207 body frame) are built on the same factory line in Bremen, Germany. The e-class has more luxury features such as the seat adjustments, pillarless windows, cooling seats, and a few other available options not on a c-class sedan/coupe/convertible. If the vehicle size matters then e-class sedan (W212 body frame) is what you should consider.

So again W204 & W207 are same factory line and near identical except luxury feature add-ons for E-class. W212 is built in a different factory and larger in dimensions then W204 or W207. Note that W204, W207, W212 frames go through 2017, from 2018 onwards the frames change as that is the newer generation of MB vehicles.

The one I'm talking about is E class C207 2014/2015 model, not a new one. See image here: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...nUYgV1KXd8Gg&s

C class is a newer model.

C-class is too narrow compared to the E. When the dealer gives me a C-class for a loaner, I can feel the difference. E is far more comfortable and luxurious. I have had two E-class sedans, and currently have an E400 cab. Loved them all. S-class to me, is too large, not to mention too much expensive electronics to repair...

E-class coupe pillarless windows and sunroof open is so nice. The C-class coupe have fixed back windows, they never go down. That for me was one of the reasons I went E-class. Also you get cooling seats, not an option in a C-class.

Also what would be difference between 2013-2014-2015 model since outside/inside they all look the same. Is it worth paying 5k more for 2015 instead of 2013?

So the 2013 looks much better to me because of the quad headlights in the front. The 2014 onwards has the same front look as a C class or S class.

The 2015 will have a slightly larger infotainment screen and some slight interior updates but pretty much all the same options exist in both 2013 and 2015. Also the 2013 at least in USA still had a gearbox, 2014 onwards had electronic gear shifting. Personally I like the gearbox shifter so stayed with the older gen.

ISTR, 2014 - 2016 are essentially the same from the exterior and interior, the last of the A/C207s. 2013 is prior to the last facelift (mostly front and interior). 2017 forward is the next gen (A/C238) (2017-2022), which is based on the E-class. Prior years are based on the CLK platform, despite the E-class badge. Personally, I like these the best, the exterior styling has the Bentley bulge in the rear, and the interior has that rectangular analog clock which I prefer over the round clock in the newer models.

A/C238 has been replaced by CLE (A/C236) (2023 and forward)

Not really, the C and S don't really have the Bentley bulge in the rear. On the front, the lighting distinguishes all three, the C & S have a single LED over the headlight, while the E has a double. The S headlights also look different from the C despite having the single LED eyebrow in common.

From the front, I still think that C E S from 2014 onwards years look very similar, I have a hard time distinguishing even if I look very closely. Here they are side by side.

The 2012-2013 E coupe has a different front profile due to the quad-headlight look. Added a photo of that in similar color for comparison purposes.
