I'm taking delivery next week of a MY18 E400 Cab anniversary edition. The dealer claims that U.S. dealers will only be getting one anniversary edition with some large dealers getting more than one. I have done research on the internet to see how many of these special editions will be produced. All to no avail. Anyone have any information on this issue? I've heard the number 300 but can't seem to verify.

Undeniably a beautiful car. What do you understand (or what did the dealer tell you) sets this E400 Cabriolet apart from the run-of-the-mill 2018 E400 Cabriolet?

It has a special color (Merlot) with matching top. The color will not be available on any other E Class. Also has a Porcelain (white) Nappa Designo interior in full leather. It is also equipped with every E Class option available. It has staggered rims and 4 Matic. It is a very expensive E Class but also very unique. Probably not the car for a daily driver but it fits nicely with my other Benzes. Replaced my Porsche with this car so now have a G Wagon, E 350 and the Cab. Looking forward to taking delivery next week.

Will also be available in Iridium silver. Don't believe they have put any limit on how many will be produced globally. Often changes depending on how well it sells with Mercedes.

Saw one of these come in and get it's PDI inspection the other day, noticed it because of the odd color combo. Interesting looking car, def not for everyone though.

Yes, I get the color thing. I actually debated the combination for a day but on my second visit to the dealer decided to go for it. There is something unique about the metallic body color and the similar top color. The interior is luxurious for and E Class. Almost rivaling my former S Class with Nappa Leather upgrade. We shall see.

Drove the car today at the dealership. Nice solid feel and a lot of technology features. I'm going to like this ride if first impressions mean anything. The interior is absolutely stunning with accented stitching and Designo Nappa leather seats. The dash is covered in leather also. It is going to take a while to become accustomed to all the technical features. A couple of days in the driveway should do the trick. They are delivering the car to my home tomorrow morning. I'll provide further impressions as a get to drive the car on a routine basis.
I do have a couple of pictures but haven't mastered the at of uploading them to the forum.

Took delivery yesterday. Have about 150 miles so far. Too early for an in depth evaluation. The technology is much improved over my other cars and is taking some getting used to. Working on that. The car is a delight to drive. Have had it mostly in comfort mode around town. Will take it out on the highway tomorrow. The interior is truly luxurious. Very close to S Class standards. All surfaces are covered in leather which gives everything a great look and feel. As mentioned in previous posts, I was a little concerned about the color but now that I have experienced it in all types of light I am really pleased. The optional 19" wheels give the car a look of substance as they fill out the wheel wells perfectly.

I actually looked at a C Class Lunar blue with blue top and designo porcelain interior. A very good looking car. I preferred the E Class and then this came along. You are going to love it. The car just does everything right. Performance is more than adequate. As for my use....no need for an AMG model.

How many are there?
I bought my 2018 E400 25th anniversary edition 2 weeks ago with just 20k on the clock. It's my daily driver, She's beautiful and drives like a dream. I'm curious to know how many more are out there as I see no others in this spec for sale nationwide... how many other owners are out there?

I had one when they first came out. One of the cars I really regret selling. I don't remember how many they made but I do remember each dealer purportedly received one. The car has a special presence about it. Good luck with it. Happy Motoring!!

If that's the case there are only 383 nationwide dealers (this counts all that may have been created since 2018 so the total may be lower). Would it be wild to say that there's only this many in the US?

I'm not sure but I think the anniversary model was also made in a different color (light grey??) maybe only for European market???? Initially this color, rubilite, was only offered on this cab. They then offered it on any model. Kind of diluted the exclusivity.

Do you know if they offered the merlot with the matching roof and interior on other models? or is that what sets this apart?

I have seen this interior/one very similar in the new maybach

The interior was always available on other models by special order. The matching Rubilite color carried over into the interior was unique. I have seen the exterior color on an S Class. I didn't think it did much for that car. Can't remember seeing it in person on another model. You are right about the interior. It is very special. Have to keep after it to keep it clean. But isn't that half the fun. You are going to get many compliments on it if my experience is any indication. So order the large size Griots leather cleaner and conditioner. You'll need it. All the best!

Awesome advice on the cleaner. I have a child so we'll see how it goes.

do you have any cleaner recommendations for the beige suede headliner?

The only advice I have for the headliner is leave it alone. If you mess with it, other than a very, very light brushing you will be sorry. Don't put any type cleaner on it!

Good luck.
