Hood Star EZ install

Installed a MB Hood Star on our 2018 A238 Cabriolet in place of the stock flat round MB emblem. Took all of about 2 minutes after cleaning the area around the old stock emblem; then using a pair of long nose pliers (spread apart) to remove & install the twist-lock items.

IMO it looks good & not too overdone with the Iridium silver paint.

Did you originally have a flat logo with a hole underneath or no hole, I would like to do the same mod on my EQE350 2024 but I am sure once I remove my flat logo there will be no hole to install the new logo, I don't want to drill the hood, just wondering if anyone else has done this mod without drilling their hood.

no drilling required

you just squeeze the plastic together to release the latch and when you reinstall it just presses in place
With the badge removed it is easy to compress the latch.

My first new car was a C230 and it had the Star on the hood and I do miss it.

I really liked to look at it when I was driving because it made me feel like I paid a little bit more but I got something that would last.

I need to do this upgrade for my E400 Cabriolet

thanks for sharing

Adding a link with what I think is the correct part number

Note: The 00 version is all chrome and the 01 version has the wording MERCEDES BENZ

Yes, just replaced the flat original blue emblem with the new Star.

The hood is flat enough even though there is a slight rise in the middle on the 2018 W213 A238 C238. The aftermarket (non-real) stars work fine but are a bit flimsier than the MB original part. Note: fleaBay affordably sells the "non-real" items in snazzy MB factory looking boxes

I'm not aware of any aftermarket illuminated grill Stars that work with the factory Distronic (semi-autonomous driving) radar & heated grill Stars. Would love to have an illuminated Star. Please let me know if that is the case.

I've read that anytime that above mentioned factory grill Star is disconnected it needs to be recalibrated/ coded by STAR diagnosis or Xentry correct? Thanks
