1994 E320 sedan should i buy?

Hey all,,, thanks now for taking the time to help me here..
Well if I get this it will be my first Benz.
This car is comming from a realtive down the line.
Just looking for some help on knowing the car and what to look for when I test drive it and anything you might think ill need to know about it. Its a 1994 E320 sedan with 200,000. miles on it. I can pick it up for $1,500.
The paint, body and interior have only minor blemishes, as for the engine ill find out when I test drive it as ive not seen it yet..
Ill see the car this Tuesday the 29th. of March.
So what do you think?

Thanks
Fupa

Something is obviously wrong with the car at that price. Its seems too good to be true and it most likely is. I'd buy a carfax and run the VIN to see if its been in any accidents, and give you this -- good luck!

Sounds fishy to me, because the car is worth around $8,000.

It's either a really big family hook up or something is wrong with the car and they are saling it for cheap because they don't want to fix the problems...which will probably cost more than what you're buying the car for. lol

LOL Stolen...

It comming from my grilfriends grandma so thats why I get that price.
So far all I know is that its in Good condition, the paint, body and interior have only minor blemishes and that its free of any major defects, no major mechanical problems...
So my question is if this car was cared for like I think it was how much longer do you think it will go? Its at 200.000ml...

Thanks
Fupa cant wait to drive it this tuseday..

Our Mercedes will last awhile. Which is what I like about them. An engine tune up or rebuild will definately add another lifetime to your car. You should get it inspected though being a new car and all and to avoid anything costly in the future.

Show us some pictures too.

That is a good price and if everything checks out I would jump on that deal. However, I would keep a minimum $3 grand in reserve because even if the car is in great shape, with 200k it's going to need some work. I would be prepared for a top end job on the motor. M104 motors are prone to leak oil into the coolant and they all leak at the front of the timing chain cover. Plan on having the head gasket replaced and the timing chain replaced. Get the service books from this car if at all possible to asses what work has already been done. (Obvisouly if it's already had the previously mentioned work preformed you don't need to do it again) A car doesn't get to 200k miles with just gas and oil changes, no offense to any body but this aint a honda. At 200k the tranny might need some work as well. Even though you're getting a good deal, the fact is a week after you buy the car, you may be in need of repairs that would cost about as much as the blue book value of the car, but hey for $1,500 you can't complain.
Here is a link to a web site that has some ggod repair and service info on your car: http://www.davebarnhart.com/mb300e/default.htm
Good luck
