Need EZL for my car. Desperate!

Well we finally confirmed that it is the EZL that has failed on my car...

The problem, the part is on national backorder!!! and it is very expensive!

If anybody can find one at a local junkyard that is working, or can locate me one for a good price, please let me know!!!

I have 2 part numbers, either one will work!

My original part: 016 545 0432
Another part number: 010 545 9532

I am calling on all my mercedes enthusiasts for your help. I found one, but it was $1500.00! and I really do not want to spend that much if I can help it.

If anybody has a line on one of these with one of those part numbers, Please get back to me.

you can e-mail me at w124mbz(at)gmail.com

(replace (at) with @ symbol)

Ebay has plenty of them for the m103 engine for cheap, but none for my m104 engine..

I need this part to get my car back on the road...

Please help!

Did you call AMC there are plenty of slavage yards that i know of in glendale and wilmington. You just gotta come down and look for it. Im sure it's not going to be $1500 because that's crazy! I got a used ECU for my old 230E for $125 and other parts for cheap.

it is either of those 2 part numbers...

It is the EZL ignition module..

016 545 0432 or 101 545 9532

I was told the mercedes EPC also lists:

012-545-20-32 and 013-545 83-32

As cross referenced numbers for the car..

EZL? Is that the same as a ECU module? Ash try this site input your request and see whats out there! Most of the places have 800 numbers . I would do a little callin and you might be surprised at what you might get it for.

EZL is the ignition control module and car-part does not have it as far as I know. no salvage yards that I checked had it, as well as the junkyards my mechanic checked.

The big problem is that the junkyards if they have it, know how much it lists for at the dealer and they charge usually half that.

It lists for like $2700.00! but dealership sells it for like $1580, and with employee pricing through my brother, it is like $1080... and it is out of stock on backorder and probably can't get it new from us dealer or through germany for up to 6 months!!!!

But I want to try to do better.

If my car was an m103, I could pick one up off ebay for like $100...

I got some people checking into it for me... one guy is going to check in australia for it, and another is going to check his sources for me.

I didn't try those yet, I will when I have a chance I didn't have much time at lunch to call I was busy trying the sources I know of first.

The ignition module for my car is very specific and has to be one of those part numbers.

The regular 300e module will not work, and I have found hundreds of those all over...

The one for the m104 I have is specific to years 1990 - 1992, ones from any other year m104 engine will not work

wow i had to change one of them on mine too. I thought the price was outragous the car was at the stealership and I told them that my friend could get me that part for a certain price and I told them that I would just order it from him instead and the stealership wanted the business so bad that they sold it for a little under cost but got me on labor. The good part about it it had some type of warranty if the installed the part and for some reason that part has a core charge also. I tell you stealership is no way a dealership to give one a deal. If you want I could check for a price for that part if you like to go that route. I know it would be a little more but its sometimes worth it to get new rather then a used one IMO.

Yeah new would be best, but the problem is the item is on national backorder and they have no eta as to when they will get them.. so if I did order it, it could be a long time before I get one. Germany is on backorder too.. that is part of the problem.

if anybody wants to do some checking on their own and can locate it, please do give me the info and I will see what is what.

Thanks,

Alon

I already ordered it...

for me $400.00 is cheaper than $1500.00 which is the price I got from a couple of scrap yards...

yeah I got it. $400 is a very good price for the one for my car. I found it at a couple of other places for $1500 used...

So I grabbed it while I could.

plus my mechanic is not charging me any labor so it works out for me...

I just want my car fixed. I'm tired of driving the gas guzzling rover around... damn thing is annoying... $30 every few days in gas sucks. I can go for a week on my w124 with $30 in gas.

thats about my average too probably a little less as most of my driving is city... I did make it From LA to just a few miles outside of San Jose on one tank... Reserve light was on for a bit, and when I finally decided to get gas it was close, car took I believe 16.8 gallons of gas,, car only holds 17.

I remember my brother drove his 190e that he used to have from Sonoma to valencia on one tank of gas and barely a drop of oil in the car.. it took 5 quarts of oil to get it up to the max mark on the dipstick.. but gas mileage was very good.

Thanks for taking the time to check on the part for me abraham, not many people would take time out of their day to help out, so thank you for checking for me.
