E320 Coupe - Freshly Modified - Need AMG Bumper!!
For the past six months I've been scouring the web for "the right" parts to modify the looks & handling of my 95 coupe - takes a while to find everything...
I just got my car back from Motorwerks (brilliant facility) after having everything installed & set up. They have posted the project on their site - www.motowerksgroup.com
I'm pretty happy with the results, though I really need a generation II AMG front bumper to finish the look off (E500 headlights & avantgarde grille on the way). I can't seem to find one anywhere - does anyone have a lead??
Here are a few pictures, along with a list of the modifications:
Bilstein / Brabus shocks & struts (imported from Germany)
Vogtland sport springs
OEM Mercedes W124 Sportline front & rear swaybars
AMG Monoblock II wheels – staggered setup (7.5x17 front / 8.5x17 rears)
Michelin Pilot Sport tires – 225/45/17 front / 245/40/17 rears
Eisenmann sport series stainless exhaust system (bumper trimmed to accommodate dual 3.5” pipes)
Rolled arches x4
OEM Bosch clear front turn signals with Silverstar bulbs
PLEASE let me know if you see an AMG bumper for sale!!

bluecoupe, Your CE looks great.
You have the exhaust I've been looking into getting. How much and where did you get your Eisenmann? and as always - how does it sound?
by the way - I've been trying to find a AMG GenII as well.

Thanks for the comments - I appreciate your opinions.
I have searched ebay regularly for the bumper without luck... Ashman, thanks for the lead - I will contact Caliber.
Chris - I think I might have found the last Eisenmann... I searched for months & eventually found it on ebay - through Bekkers. They were clearing out their shelves. I paid $400 plus shipping. I have to say that fitting it required a bit more effort than expected - Motorwerks had to fabricate & weld a bracket for it to sit up as high as I wanted - plus the bumper needed to be trimmed (I'll paint all of the lower half of the car once I find that damn bumper...).
As for the sound, I like. It's a little bit louder than I expected, but not obtrusive. I only wish I had a 5-speed, then it would sound perfect.
I'll take some more pictures once I have the lights & grille installed. Hopefully the grille will be worth the $$$ I paid for it from Performence Products. Apparently they have the best quality ones from Germany.

Chris - I believe I got the sport, but I can't be sure because Bekkers had no other information on the exhaust other than what it fit.... I"ll call Esienmann directly with the serial number & find out.
I'll also take a few more pictures this weekend.

More exhaust pictures
As requested, here are a few more pictures of the Eisenmann exhaust.
These exhausts are a custom fit for the w124 - the pipes are bent to fit perfectly - but they still need some fabrication. I had Motowerks weld the pipes rather than clamping & they also had to fabricate a hanger bracket.
The staggerd set up was a must for me... A lot of people said it wouldn't work because the rears are too wide. It does work - 245's! It took a long time to find the staggered 17" monoblock II's, but it was worth the wait.
STILL LOOKING FOR AN AMG FRONT BUMPER!!!

E500 Headlights...
Look what arrived today.... Can't wait!
I purchased the entire set of headlights, though I'm assuming that everything other than the lenses are the same as my E320?? Therefore, I'm just planning on replacing the lenses - does antone know / suggest different?

bluecoupe, The Eisenmann exhaust looks great on your car. I believe there is someone else on the forums who has the racing exhaust from what I remember. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
I'm curious, where did you purchase the headlight lens? I want to get another set of my own.

Chris - I found a guy on the 500e forum who had a set sitting around in his basement. Hes a true fanatic & the condition of these lights are a testiment to his **** nature.
Also, I've now had a few opportunities to drive the car fast across nice twisting roads. If anyone with a W124 wants to seriously improve the handling of their car, I strongly recommend this set up; the suspension is now very confidence inspiring with a flat, tight feel through fast corners. It's just incredible.... I only wish I could tilt the steering wheel down a bit. Oh, now I've conviced myself that I need a Sportline steering wheel too...
STILL NEED THAT BUMPER.... ANYONE???

Thanks AMG Eric - Motorwerks is trying to source one from Germany, though the lead time is outrageous. I'm hoping that a distributer here has one in stock (I won't buy from Precision Auto because he's a *****). There's also a guy in Russia that has them, though can't seem to put a shipping quote together to send it to London; where I could pick it up & carry it back...
Nice coupe, by the way - the black V's are a nice contrast against the red.

thx. i still have a set of monoblocks cluttering up the garage here with tires on them. i need to ebay those.
the ones you source elsewhere wont be real. more then likely they will be fiberglass. the authentic ones are available via the stealership. the shipping time is normally 6 weeks. shipping is included in the stealership price.

Blue Coupe
Was this car on the Motorwerks site? It looks amazing. Was it repainted? I've got an '88 CE in Dark Blue that I want to do all the same things to. I was looking around for the CE list and i know that I've finally found it. Between this forum and the W124 list at BenzWorld I will be learning a lot.
I may have access to a few of the same motor (M103) and even transmissions. It would be a good idea to swap the motor and transmission on all these coupes so they run twice as long.
I test drove a '92 and a '94 recently and was pleasantly surprised. All good. I love this model car.
Jason
PS I've got nine 15" wheels to trade or sell towards some upgrade 17" wheels. And I need an exhaust to replace the original one that's totally fried.

wow - that's really not that bad for only $400. I was quoted a little bit more than that. Do you have the racing exhaust? I'm only asking because I noticed you said it was fairly loud. Do you have any pictures of how the exhaust looks from underneath, side and etc etc?
Chris,
I emailed Eisenmann regarding my exhaust for my Inline 6 and they have stopped producing them totally. They wont even do a special order. They do however have them for the v8's and price now is over a grand American.
I hear from my BMW buddies who have Eisenmann that service is pretty lousy !!
