bass.,....

Hi yea it's me again,
I've read that you people cut the rear parcel shelf/deck to let the bass through. I have a 12" MTX sub in my trunk and the bass is... well.. disappointing.

I just want to cut a hole where the first aid kit is. This way, I can use the first aid kit lid to conceal the hole.

However, how do you people go around cutting the hole? I'm not really that handy with tools (I swear I will round every screw that I try to turn).

Any ideas are grately appreciated.

Cheers

Thx for the guide, I've had it bookmarked

However, I've got a 12" MTX sub in a MDF box already in the trunk of my car. I was wondering if it is possible to gain more bass from the present setup. The petrol tank is really a pain in the **** it absorbs the majority of the bass..

Sorry homie, if you don't want to change your sub and your enclosure, the only thing you do to improve your bass is to alter your rear dash in some way...

So, you said you're willing to do that. So get a "Dremel". It's the rotory tool that you see pictured in 2PHAST's tutorial. They aren't really that expensive, and they are very versitile and handy tools. Then get some metal cut-off attachments. Do a little web research on dremels and the available bits and you'll figure it out. You'll also need to get an attachment to cut through the plastic dash.

Next, carefully measure and draw the lines for where you want to cut. Put on some goggles and lay something over the rest of your face (trust me on this one, if you dont' do that, you'll get little metal shards all over your face, and they are uncomfortable), fire up the dremel, check to make sure you still have your *****, and start hacking away.

Good luck.

Cheers

Just remove your rear speakers and add some tweaters to the c pillars to make it kinda sound like theirs music from the rear.
