im interested in the top speeds of your 300E's .. years 1988-1992.. specifically stock cars. I know the speedometer reads 160. What do you get?

 

I heard that in the M103 W124's (300E) it was like 144 MPH (ungoverned), and then after 1993 they changed to a lower speed rated tire so it dropped to somewhere in the 130's (governed). i might be off but that is what i have read.

no
they were still all govered to a max 155 as determined by a "gentlemans agreement" between the various german manufacturers (except for porsche.)

ive seen 130 in my 300E 2.6

 

I took my car up to 140mph last month - I wanted to see how much faster it could go but the freeway was starting to bend and I was already using all the lanes ...

 

I have done 132 in my 300E.

Ive gotten to 125 with 3 big guys in my car. Didn't feel like it was pulling much afterwards though.

 

Maxxed a gauge out on a 500E Chipped. needle it rock bottom & flinched. 165mph 05' GSX-R1000. 75mph wheelie on my old bike.

I hit 140 twice in my 92 300E. 125 several times with three other people in the car and my 400 lbs. fat ***.

 

I have gone 150 in my 1992 400E. Felt like she wanted more, I got scared. Too fast for me.
