Automatic door locks wont work!!

Ok this has been a prblem for some time now. Before all 4 door locks work whenever i press down on the driverside lock. Now it doesnt work. Anyone know what seems to be the problem here? I hear the rear passenger motor whenever i lock it but i hate to have to manual lock all the doors. Anyone know??

the locks work by vacuum. have you checked the vacuum motor? perhaps it is a vacuum line. or it could be the vacuum pump.

Do you know where i can find the vacuum line? I think you might be right. I changed out the fuses and still wont work. So yeah im guessing its the vacuum line. Do you think it might be clogged up or something? Because when i push down all for locks manually i can hear the rear passenger side motor. Sounds like something is activated when i lock it but nothing happends. So basically it stays on untill i unlock it. =\

There are buttload of vacuum lines in these things. The pump is under the passenger side of the rear seat. It will run until everything it's supposed to close or latch are done. I had a similar problem after my recent stereo installation at a local audio store. Traced the problem to a loose vacuum line in the trunk that goes to the gas door lock. Seems the stereo installer draped this line up over the trunk hinge spring to keep it out of his way and inadvertantly pulled it loose from the gas door lock. It was easy to fix, just put it back on. What you'll have to do is pull out the rear seat bottom to expose the pump and lines, and possibly open the trunk and pull out the passenger side trunk lining. Then get a couple friends to stand around various parts of the car listening for a vacuum leak while the pump continues to run. You'll find it. Good luck.

it sounds like one of the vacuum lines in the drivers door is off or cracked.

your problrm is MOST likely a loose or cracked vaccum line there.

this is not uncommon nor is it a major fix. replace the line.

im guessing what your guessing too! Im thinking its a line that broke/cracked. Is there a main line that is causing all 4 doors not to lock automatically?? I checked it out today and whenever i press down on the front passenger door lock i can hear the vacuum pump working in the rear passenger side seat. So i know my vacuum is working. Im thinking its 1 maine line but not for sure which one. Where do i start?

where you start is at the pump I guess. pull all the lines off and plug the tubes on the pump and the lines. then plug one in and test. I would assume. or you may need a vacuum tester and test each line.

Where do i get for find a vacuum tester? I see there are like 2 lines on each side of the rear seats. Do i need to go through the carpet to get to all the lines?

Just check the lines that are coming off the pump, each of those goes to a door / lock. if one of them wont pressure test, you will know which one and will be able to trace it.

The pump is the one that is located in the rear passenger side right?
