Holy shizzzz lol!!

What I MEANT by that was there are guys that mod because people tell them it would look cool instead of it actually looking cool or done by a real modder. You don't fall into that category because you have owned 2 of the coolest mb's...."dad modders" can't tell a 500E from a 260E or a 2.3 16 from a regular 190E

:C But the whole thing is, the car IS dated. I like the 80s tuner look the blend gives it, and its kinda different. Most people try and push our cars into the 21st century with sleek asthetics and what not, but burgundy is simply not a color that I can work to make this car look sleek. If It was black or white, Id have that Wald V4 kit and 95 pieces to make it look sleek as hell. But in the color it is now, I feel like a more boxy and retro asthetic suits the car better.

Nothing wrong with that, dood. But if that's the way you feel about your car's asthetics, perhaps your money is better spent on something other than modding your "dated" burgundy 124. Perhaps on necessary maintenance or something.

But in the end, do what you want to do. If you think it will make you happy, it's money well spent.

I dont dislike the car because its dated, but I rather, I like the idea of making it look more like how I feel it should. Someone posted some 80s modded cars in the picture thread, and I thought they were some of the coolest cars. Also, seeing those two CEs (Brabus and Lorinser) just bolstered this idea that I like the retro-modded look. For example, the 190e EVOII is probably about the pinnacle of what I think the coolest looking benz is. As for maintenance first, I wish. But its so much easier to just drop 70$ for the blend and install it, and have something I can SEE, versus saving up for over 2k of stuff I want to do to the suspension, or the 800$+ I want in rims/tires, etc. Once I get a real job, the big stuff begins. Including a new hood, HID retros, bodykit, etc. This is kid stuff, because, well, thats what I am :P

Aight, input on rims I like the MD2, ST4, and Ravenna the best.
Rial Bari:(16-161$/17-195$)

Rial Ravenna:(16-166$/17-205$)

ASA ST4:(18-109$)

Borbet LS:(15-105$/16-126$/18-183$)

Borbet XL:(17-173$/18-197$)

Moda MD2:(18-175$)

MSW Type 16 (Time Attack Stripe!):(18-149$)

MSW Type 14:(16-80$/17-96$/18-115$)

AT Italia Helicopter (lol):(16-99$)

Plus, best shot of my car ATM if someone feels squirrely and wants to photoshop what they reccomend. :P

Thanks, Z !

I'm not really that sensitive about my car, though.

Mind you, talk about receding hairlines...

MD2 I really like,

ST4 good UPDATED look, but getting more common (mine are similar)

I like the chrome-faced, black background 5-spoke Borbets too, but kinda 80's

Well, seeing as im toying with getting a rear tail light filler panel, I guess I'm feeling a little 80s :P

So far: One vote for MD2, ST4, and Borbet XL. Hmm..

Agreed XLs may look a little bit "cheesy", but are you going for retro? Just wear a turtleneck while driving. I would love to get a gander at some 16s on a car, just to see...

Can't leave us colorful "Dad Modders out of it......you need to back off !!!
I think I'll install my center lens section tomorrow after I match it to the cladding color.
The Great White North must be very bleak and devoid of colors....

Thanks so far guys. Its really hard for me to visualize these rims because I have never seen them in person, let alone on a w124. I do like the borbet LS, they are extremely light compared to the rest of the rims Anyone like the Rial Ravenna? Those caught my eye first, but I dont think I can do that on a burgundy car. Maybe my dads 500e. How about the Bari and the Italia Helicopter? lol. Anyone else? I really am interested in what you think. Zorro, were you serious about the MSW Type 16 Time Attack, or are you making fun of me again

fun thread ~~~ i've got a lens filler panel for the w124 ~~~ it was made in germany by air press (they made these for a few different cars, 944 most popular, but they were known for their sunroof deflectors) ~~~ this would probably look good on a burgundy car or darker color, just didn't look to good on my smoke silver ~~~ went with the 1990 up filler panel painted a matte black which matched the black chrome surround on the 1989 ce
