XM Radio Antenna... Stupid or Tech? You Tell Me!

I just installed a antenna to my ride and I was wondering what you think. I have to put it somwhere, so I thought, why not put it right in the middle, instead of it hanging out the window. Tell me what you think... Pro or No?!!
[IMG][/IMG]
I exposed the wiring a little so you can see what I did... you can not see the wiring at all when I was done.

When I got to the last part, all I needed to do was pull the carpet and plug it in to the back of my head unit. And Bada Bing! I have XM Satelite Radio!

pretty slick! I would have maybe mounted it behind the sunroof and hit it up with a coat of white krylon fusion, but the way you did it is very clean... i say 'pro'!

I would have placed it in the middle of the trunk on the edge. Or the back edge of the roof.

You may have a leak once it rains with the wire passing through the seal for the sunroof.

Other than that it looks pretty pro to me.

I will when I get the car back. The rear brakes locked up on me oday so it is in the shop. Funny thing is, I started to run out to the garage with my camera then realized the car is not there. I think it looks really sharp on the trunk lid. I had three of my neighbors help me with the antenna location and we all agreed that was the best spot.
It sits on the trunk lid centered on the third brake light.

haha.. i've done the same thing when my car was in the shop.

sounds good what you did, though! I appreciate you taking the time to take pictures for me. I'm realy curious to know how you did the wiring! Thanx again, Kool!! GOOOOOOOO TEXAS!!

I was @ the championship game, going for SC, of course (even though i'm UCLA fan). It was a sad event for me. 1st I watch the Bruins get their butts kicked by SC, then I watch SC get their butts kicked by Texas... No fun! (I was @ the SC Bruins game too)

How did you get the wire thru to the trunk? I spent a lot of time trying to figure that out... I now have the antenna sitting on my rear speaker grill, which is metal.

I like the antenna thru the sunroof, I actually thought about doing that!!

Just pull out the rear seat, the seat bottom will pop out when you depress the two red tabs and pull up on the seat, then, the seat back will pull out when you grab the bottom of the seat back and pull up, towards the roof. The seat back it hooked onto the interior frame with several tabs. Just pull up then out. At that point, you can see where the "holes" are to run your wire. Good luck.

That should be fun in a coupe

But thanks for the info... I knew that the seat bottoms came out, and I did pull them out to see about getting wire thru... but I will check the removal of the back seat back.
