w124 custom sound system really custom

Here are some pictures of the new system I am putting in my w124. It consists of an Alpine PRO vehicle HUB and touch screen in front. The screen is really a rear seat screen which is 1" thick which makes it easier to install. The total system consists of navigation unit, traffic management unit, mp3 changer, HD radio module, XM radio module, Ipod interface. I can also add a rear camera, rear screens, Dolby Digital processor, DVD changer. The whole system is controlled via a controller mounted in the center console between the rear window buttons. Something like a I-drive system. The bezel was custom fabricated by me with wood, fiberglass, bondo, and lots of sweat. The bezel is finished from my end and has been sent to Phoenix Imaging to match the wood grain in the car.

The last picture is quite not finished still. I did lots more sanding and filling in the small pin holes. The trim piece around the shifter is chipped on the corner as you can see and it being replaced.

That looks cool dude....That's really what everyone needs in here alittle fiberglass, wood, bondo and not be scared to cut up their dash. I was thinking of something similar but i want to mount the a/c crontrols in the bottom and mount the screen on top...

i was considering doing the same. It should not be to hard to do. I decided to leave it on bottom since it's recessed and is better to view in bright daylight. Also, I made sure the angle of the screen is in view of the driver.

I just lowered the car and added 17" monoblocks. Waiting on the adjustable camber arms. I will be doing a 5.0 engine swap also. I'm probably not going to do the fenders like the 500e though. Also, adding rear heated seats OEM, rear shade, and up/down rear headrests like the S class. I just added the left power mirror that my car did not have. I am waiting on the right full size power mirror from abroad.

I am utilizing OEM locations for mounting all my modules. I did not want to take up any trunk space. THe Xm module is bolted under the rear seat. The changer in the OEM location. HD radio module under the passanger footwell. Vehicle Hub in the stock tuner location in trunk. I will probably be adding rear parktronic as well from an older mercedes car.

That's nice having all kinds of mods that are hidden or look stock...Will make any w124er look twice right... I'm thinking of alot of mods right now but i have two big mods i have to finish first.

One idea is pushing the fenders in the front and making it look like a wide body from the front without being a wide body. I got in a car accident and the left fender is pushed in and towards the grille and it kinda makes the fender look wider....i know it dosen't make sence but i'll show you guys later...
