the e39 m5 is a BEAST. a friend of mine has one and that thing hauls some fkn ***. it has a few bolt ons and ems. ive never driven a e500 but i have raced a e55 amg in my old wrx and murdered it.
as far as basics go, my dad has a 99 528i and use to have a 98 540i. my e320 seems more powerful/luxurious than the 528i but the 540 has a lot of kick.
it all boils down to personal prefrence i suppose.
but i see my dads bmws always having a lot of problems @ 130k+ miles.

benz are what I grew up on, literally. My dad was always going to Stuggart for trainging and driving the new cars and sometimes I would spend the day at work with him as he sold cars. For me Benz are like a legacy, something to be passed on from generation to generation. Im not sure if the new benz deserve this due to reliability and safety issues, but the older ones certainly did.

Own an M5 and you can be the only guy on your block running 60wt oil.

Read somewhere the average M5 is in immediate need of $15,000 in maintenance.

...yes but we're only talking here about smaller engine BMW's. BTW e36 M3 is a lot cheaper to maintain than stock M5.

Cool BMW vs MBZ

Ok as someone who has owned 9 BMWs and 7 MBZs currently have a Black e39 and 2 124s {95 e420 and 87 300e} They are totally different beasts. As far as tossing a car into a corner I will take my bmw but for pure speed my benz has always felt safer and more solid. Both are designed for hi speed and what alot of folks don't think about, walking away from a high speed accident that is why they last and keep up their appearance and value plus they arn't cheap but if I had to choose one car I would have to go with a 124 just for overall design, feel and ride. Thanks for listening

Talking I realy realy want one of these V12 8Series babys!!

Is mercedes E-class really more elegant and powerful campared to bmw 5 series-download_1_2.jpg

This is my favorite European luxory sports coupe(besides the MB CL65 AMG, that's my all time fave). I am really looking in to buying one of these soon, but they're pricey.

GOD I WANT ONE! BLACK ON F-ING BLACK!!

The brand new M5 is an insane V10 beast. Nothing in it's class compares. It is an awesome vehicle. When comparing the new M5 with the new E55 AMG, it's about your taste and preference. both vehicles are top of the line. Personally I would chose the M5.

But you ask which one is faster... who cares? Who are you racing? They're both more than fast enough in my opinion.

Man,, what are you talkin' about. Are you tryin' to tell me that M5 doesn't get loose and feel cheap after few years of drag racing and what not? Get your facts right ...because from my understanding it's the same vehicle as any other 5series except V8 power engine.

i am sorry to say but ur wrong M5 are always better made than all the other 5 series in its range so dum bmw customers feel special. the real difference is bmw puts alot of technology in to itz cars but they lack in all the other area and that were a mercedez benz comes in take the new s class for example it has all the tech, looks and comfort u name it all in one and a car that bmw can never match with there 7 series.

but as were talking of bm 5's and merc e's look back and look at the interior were as the bmw is all black and dull scary and leather look ****ed, the merc on the other hand looks wicked with all the leather and dash with all the buttons in the right places and comfort that u never forget.

i hope merc takes over bmw couz they got the money and teach's them how to make a proper car rather than jus ripping ppple of with itz crappy carz.

long live benz
