Heya,
Haven't been on here for a while. For those of you who may have forgotten, I drive a 1994 E220 sedan..
I was just wondering if anyone knows of the best aftermarket exhaust that I can get.. I want a deep roar.. I don't mind it being noisy as long as it's not too boy-racer-ish... hehe

Any info. is appreciated.
Cheers,
Jeff

there are so many more options for you, being that you are in europe, i'd surf the net. We stick with either super expensive euro brands here, or, magnaflow or flowmaster.

If you want loud, go with a flowmaster. They don't have any sound insulation at all. My car is off the charts loud for a mercedes with no resonator and a custom flowmaster set up. plus its like half the price of a new oem mercedes exhaust set up.

LOL!! Never knew you would find that Zed..
Yeah mate the car is actually in Hong Kong but I'm currently in Europe, London to be specific..
I wouldn't mind shipping or bringing a muffler back to Hong Kong though.. I've brought quite a lot anyway!

So flowmaster is louder and deeper than magnaflow? Hmm.. Decisions decisions decisions... haha

One question though. How heavy would the muffler be? I wouldn't want to spend a fortune shipping the thing back and on the other hand, the custom jobs in Hong Kong are lousy.. They don't last and they don't do it right..

BTW.. There's actually another one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ozWqAGyVTo

Yours is a 300E right? Mine is a slow (yet low) E220 (facelifted).. I wonder which of the flowmaster mufflers would fit? Also, I read that the flowmaster mufflers do not come with tips and hence I would need to somehow get hold of some tips to fit.. Where did you find yours?

Oh and also, do you know if flowmaster ships to UK?

Cheers

be serious jeffers. you're in the uk. go online and do some research, there must be a ton of places there you could get a quality exhaust, probably even a nice german one. *****, just fly to germany and buy one, you can get a ticket on easyjet for 35 pounds.

If they don't, I'm sure someone in this forum would help you out. You could buy them and have someone pick them up and ship them to you.

LOL Cheers everyone!
I've just been on another forum and heard a sound clip of the Magnaflow + no resonator.. It sounds alright so I'm probably going down this route.. Flowmaster is probably WAY too loud for my liking hehe

man, no offense to anyone but I've never understood the desire to have a loud exhaust, especially on an automatic mercedes that is far from breaking any speed records. help me understand this!!

LOL.. Well to be honest I am not actually looking for a loud exhaust.. How should I put it, I just want to have some nice exhaust notes to listen to.. As you know, my 124 is a lowly E220 (M111) and the sound isn't exactly nice..

Maybe it's just me.. LOL

mannnu how is the remus exhaust? is to noticeable and is the sound deep? Oh and what engine have you got (cux I heard the number of cylinders make a difference)
