im going to attempt a crazy crazy thing this weekend...wish me luck....

since I didn't get any kind of a drop after my #1 pads were installed in the rear, I'm having a friend 'modify' my springs. ie: cut them. he's done over 500 cars In his life alone so he knows exactly how much to cut. lol. but I think once I fill the gap in the back and front the rear will be lower than te front. so I'm gonna pick up some 225/40/18's to replace my 35's. I have to put off the air until mid-late feb. me and the lady are goin to vegas from the 17th to 21st (chris meet us there fgt) and that = $$. it shouldn't effect the ride height at all since its only half a coil or so, just a daring move on my part.

wish me luck.
ill post pix this weekend.

Please don't do it, I had to learn this the hard way. If you must don't have a spring pad at all and I don't know the spring rate between CE's and sedans but once I have weight in my trunk or people in the back seat my car and wheels be scraping. I hate passengers and now I tell all that my car's a two seater. Before doing what your going to do load your trunk up with alot of weight like atleast 300lbs or have 2-3 people in the back seat then look at the stance then and drive around a few bloacks like that. Oh and remember how the rear rear teeter-tots itself when accellerating. The front of course won't teeter-tot cause the weight off the engine and tranny won't really allow it to. Hope you see it from my eyez now.

yeah I'm pretty familiar with dumped cars. all of my previous cars were dumped on coilovers and tucked tire. its going to be a temporary fix until I get back from vacation. my friends been riding on cut stock springs (cut 3 coils.. I'm cutting 1/2 a coil) for 3 yrs now with no problems. I still have like 2 in of gap in the rear. taking off the pad completely won't eliminate it completely.

Yeah as long as it is only temporary, cutting coils never results in a quality ride

Do you get any rubbing now at all? what kind of stiffness are you using for your shocks?

my car as it sits now rides as good if not better than any stock car I've ridden in. never rub, even with people in the back. I'm sure it won't be much different with half a coil missing.

I know this is a repeat, but you have Vogtland/Bilstein Sport and what are your wheel and tire sizes and bump pads again?

If yours never rubs, even with passengers, then I want to duplicate that set-up. Different wheels of course, but same size everything.

One of these days I need to see your car in person.

Hey, you want to go to San Antonio with me to pick up my car on Saturday? I'll pay for gas.
