400E
finally my pics....

heres my beloved 4E, I wouldn't really call it a "project" cuz with the exception of the wheels I like the way it looks as it sits, paint is on the to-do list as soon as my wallet recovers from a blown shock/spring.....

this is my cardomain page:

That's cause his data is flawed. The 400E is 269hp, the E420 is 275hp.

actually my data is not flawed the owners manual says my 400E has 275hp, it has dyno'd a consistent 290ish

another thing.....

that dyno was recorded with a "racing" CPU, not the oem version.
the OEM CPU puts right around 280ish.

keep in mind i've spent DAYS fine tuning my car, for serious performance

Fella, fella fella....the 400E comes with 269 stock, end of story. The E420 and E430 (w210, W220 engines) had 275hp. Also...."CPU"s do nothing for our cars as they are electomechanical fuel injection...NOT electronic. What does that mean? Well there are very little ways to mod the W124 and achieve any significant hp gains without changing engine displacement or going to forced induction. Anyyyyyway, dyno bs, misconceptions and delusions aside, you have a nice 400E and welcome to the MBWorld community

Hey Bles,

welcome to our forums.

One small thing: I would STRONGLY suggest that if you are going to come in here and say all these wonderful pipedream-like things about your beloved w124, then I say you post pictures of some sort of physical proof that all of these things you say are true.

It is a LAW around here, really.

Hes only claiming 20 extra horses that doesnt sound imposible to me.Not every car puts out the exact hp quoted by the manufacture some are higher some lower.Dynos also run different numbers from model to model. So cut the man some slack.

You might pick up 10 HP from gutting the exhaust.

If you pulled 290 HP on say a Mustang Dyno you're looking at around 335-340HP @ the flywheel.
Figure 15% approximate drive train loss from the flywheel number.
That's a lot of HP even with a cam and headers for a non forced induction motor.
My C43 is published at only 302 @ the flywheel, larger displacement, AMG cam and ECU.
Very curious, What engine mods do you have ???
