milage is getting better

Wow! I did pretty good on this last tank of gas. When I first purchased the car I was barely getting over 200mpt.This last tank I squeezed out 282.Things did to improve milage K&N, romoval of reference resistor, detent & throttle cable adjustment, idle control hoses replaced, fuel ralay, tire pressure checked reg, intake cleaning, techron fuel system in tank, plugs ,wires,c&r.
I think this next tank might even get me to the 300mile range.I adjusted the cables at half tank and seemed to get twenty more mile out of it.

Well... the only reason why you were able to get 315MPG is because you drive worst than a asian driver/grandma combined on the roads. mr... I lack documents. LOL

Anyways, I get anywhere from 200-240MPG on average. The most I've ever gotten was 274MPG but those were all freeway miles. I think its come for the tune up - I need to replace the accelerator cable since I can see it getting worned.

Cruising 65 for the whole tank, I get 400 miles out of it, Normal driving, I get around 300. How do you people get so little out of a tank and Im not mellow on the pedal either.

My mileage isn't that bad for a V8... I just wish it was a little higher - considering the fact that its almost summer and gas prices are already going up.

$2.97 for 91 Octane now.

I usually refill my '93 400E@ at around 300 miles with ¼ tank left. I average around 19-21mpg in my regular driving. Gonna do a highway trip this weekend, we'll see how good it does on that one.

You guys should compare mpg because it's more accurate than miles per tank. With miles per tank you're never really sure exactly how much is left in the tank...so it could vary from fill up to fill up. Using mpg will accurately show how much fuel you're consuming. Last time I filled up I got 24mpg in the 400E (pure highway). Pretty frickin awesome for a V8, I'd say

I usually get around 300 mpt with city driving. On this tank I've done 300 and I still have just less than 1/4 tank because I drove about 150 highway miles.

Well, We don't use all that mile stuff in Canada but I did the conversion and I get about 217miles per tank, thats city and highway mix !!

Is that bad? I think it is !! I need my car to drink a hell lot less, and im only driving an inline 6 and I don't have a heavy foot.

Suggestions ?

What would be preferable is...

1liter (0.26 gallons) giving me 10 kilometers (6.21 miles)

and a full tank of 50 liters without the reserve which is another 10 liters !!

So,

50 liters (13.20 gallons) giving me 500 kilometers (310 miles)!!!

No doubt about that. But thats not how it should be. What do I do to rectify this gas guzzling phenomenon ??

Note: I'm not a heavy footed driver and its an inline 6 !!

Advice appreciated !!

well,do the typical maintenance(plugs ,wires etc)What Worked most for me was the removal of the timing resistor, k&n,adjusting the throttle and transmission cables.clean out intake.

I have some nerve replying.Im still trying to get my miles up.my goal was 300 but after seeing that some of these car are going well over that I have a long way to go....good luck
