AMG Authenticity must have paperwork.
A few years ago I bought a wrecked 1985 European 300E with the full AMG (non-frp) bodykit, Penta wheels, AMG 4 steering wheel, import stickers from AMG West, AMG dual intake, Recaro classics and no adjustment switches on the doors, a rear shelf speaker module, extra Zebrano trim, and of course the rear metal AMG badge. Without paperwork or AMG marks on the engine, it was no more than a good clone. I couldn't justify repairing it so I took all the salvagable parts from it.

Hey Guys I'm the owner of said car. I made a mistake about it being the japanese amg car.... I correct the add but I want to clarify some thing and if you have more questions I am sure I will be able to answer. I originally did not know much about this car because the car is gray market and the VIN would not come up in mbusa. So I had to trace this thing all the way back to MB germany. All the amg stuff I listed on e-bay are authentic factory installed before it left mercedes. apparently the seats are from the sportline and so is the steering wheel. I have the option list straight from germany for my car specific so I can prove it. the rare thing about this car was the suspension which on the option list ruffly translate say special format(special edition). The engine is the m104 factory installed engine. Oh by the way I vaccumed the car thos pictures were taken before I did that by my father.

I would like to post some pics but they are to big to post. Do you happen to know what this car might be worth and if there is someone out there looking to buy it?

I'd really like to see your AMG documentation. When I inquired about mine, they merely stated if the car were authentic it would have documentation and indentifications on the motor. Prior to the merger or buyout, AMG was an independant tuner for Mercedes so a customer could go directly to them after their purchase or the factory could take an order for their work or parts.
The downside to grey market cars is that some parts are not available in the US.

The engine wasn't changed by amg!

Judging by the pictures I have seen, the car looks very clean. If the paint and interior are in pristine condition and all the mechanics function properly, the car in my opinion, is worth a minimum of 18k USD. But again, like cat said, if a person wants this car bad enough (which I am sure someone does), it is worth whatever they are willing to pay. I still don't know why you are selling this fine piece of machinery, but it's your deal. I know for a fact you will miss it.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Your right I will miss it. The reason I am selling the vehicle is because I live in an appartment now and I can't take care of it like it should be taken care of( meaning keep it out of the weather) I love driving it because of the suspension and quickness. Can you help me get the word out on this car. I can't seem to post in the classifieds because it just keeps locking up

no man, i don't hate you at all. i was just skeptical. this is a discussion forum, and i didn't see anything that made it stand out to me as factory amg. it didn't have anything that i know of that made it an obvious authentic amg. i didn't mean any personal attack on you. it just didn't match up with the japanese one. i'm in richmond though, so i'm pretty close. good luck with your sale. it's a beautiful car.

Hey garfunkle let me know if I should add anything to my ebay post. Also if you have any thoughts about the car I'd like to hear them, you appear to know a lot, you can give me a call at 40-279-3149. Oh rooney theres no beef just was all suprised but I realize how obscure these cars are now from the headache giving research.
