depends on the offset... it seems ~35 offset to maybe very low 40's will probably fit fine. i'm running 18x8 +35 no rubbing

Running 18 x 8 ET35 AMG replicas with 225/40-18 Falken FK-452 tires.
Lowered with H&R Sport springs and Bilstein HD shocks.

The wheel/tire combo has no interference or rubbing problems.

Secret is finding a tire that will give performance, low noise and good ride quality.
The Falken FK-452 IMHO meets these parameters.

Had 17" on the car since 1990 starting with Dunlops and ending up with Bridgestones.

The 18 combo is better then the 17 combos I ran for seventeen years

Again, depends on the offset of the wheels.

FYI, you're probably not going to like the way 18's look if you don't lower the car. It's going to look like a 4x4.

At this point a stock setup stick outs to me, looking quite odd. Makes me think of an older gentleman in high waders.

This AMG for example.

but how would i find out the offset if i buying the rims on line? the only info i have is

http://wheelstudio.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=8380&vehicle_make=Mer cedes&vehicle_model=E-Class%20W124%20>%201986-95&t1=225-40r18&t2=&t3=

just from looking at it i assume the offset is 40? or am i wrong?

03' CL55 AMG
I have 18x5 with 225/45 tires and the car is lowered 1.5 inches, i only get rubbing in the front when i hit speed bumps or sharp dips in the road

The ride is very smooth imo but the handling is mich tighter and responsive than stock

I am not sure what offset nor what stiffness of shocks i have though, those are also deciding factors

definitely email or call that website before buying. Just ask them... By the model number, my guess would be that the offset is 38? if so, that would be fine for a 7.5" rim.

I'm running 18x8 fronts and 18x9 rear AMG's with 225 rubber all around. Vogtland springs with no pads and the ride is suprisingly very very nice. Front rubs like crazy though even with rolled fenders. Rear dosn't rub so needs to go a little lower
