From the article: "If convicted on the mail-fraud charge, he would face a possible five-year prison term and a fine of up to twice the gross loss incurred by investors."

I love that camless design, though. Even if it is not more efficient, it would cut down on moving parts and engine noise. It's ingenious. How did you stumble upon that?

I saw that design about 15 years ago in the automotive journals. The questions that immediately came to my mind were... "How do they seal the valve during compression?" and 'How do exhaust deposits affect the reliability of the part?"

If this technology delivered everything it promised, why don't OEMs use it, and why don't the racing teams use it? I imagine this technology would require a complete upper end rebuild of the engine to decarbon the the parts every 20K.

is it possible that cleaning could consist of opening up the head and just throwing some sort of cleaning liquid on it?

If you've ever rebuilt engines, you'd realize how difficult it is to remove deposits from an engine, especially from the hot section. The only way I know to remove deposits is by hot tanking at a machine shop.

I have access to all kinds of solvents (alcohol, acetone, pentane, methylene chloride, etc.). None of them work on engine deposits.
