I guess I better get some pix up and be a little more involved so I can be a official Kombi member. Particularily since I've been a wagon guy for years.

For now I have what might be a shock/accumilator issue on the 91'. I've never replaced any dampening parts on the self leveling cars. The rear is just starting to have a little more spring than I like. What's the most common item to wear out? I have heard accumilators are pricey. Is this the unit that looks like a shock? Car has 207K. I'll probably do the springs, I have the tool and it's easy. Did sportline springs/shocks on the front of 95'. Lowered the rear to match. I have 155K on it, and the rear is great.

Thanks

Dan

They have a tread wear of 280, how many miles do you expect out of yours?

They sure look nice

Found a nice sized rock on the way to the office this morning - put a dime -sized chip at the lower edge of the glass (by the black strip)....I've got the windshield repair service on the way right now.

my chipped windshield cracked on me over a year ago, and I have been waiting to finish school on the east side of the mountains until I get the glass replaced. It drives me crazy since it is right in front of my line of sight. The last time I put new glass in one of my cars it was chipped within a few hours.

How much did this cost you Chappy?

She just finished a few minutes ago....she came to my office and fixed the chip right on the spot. Took about 25-30 minutes.

Do the red/clear/red ones and smoke them yourself, I promise you will be happy with the results!

Just use a good thick coat of clear!

Weren't you selling the cab? I'm GLAD to know you're still a w124 lover! And a Kombi at that! NICE!

I thought you were going domestic on us

I did sell the Cab (although it is still in my garage, shippers are supposed to come today or tomorrow), just haven't updated the picture, need to get some snaps of the Wagon first. I would never go domestic .

I will tell you the Wagon feels faster than my Cab, I forgot to look at my E-class bible last night, but I would not be suprised if it is lighter.

I will miss the drop, but the utility of the wagon is hard to beat.

Wagon is lighter...there was quite a bit of reinforcement structure added to the W124 cabrio.

Let's see that Kombi!

Here are some pics of the two cars together right before the cabriolet went on the car carrier. The good news is the Convertable went to a true Mercedes afficando and joins an SL, and an W210 E320.

The wagon is giving a long *sigh* today. It developed an exhaust leak over the last few months and I've finally had enough of the fart-can sound. So, it's at mbenzman's place getting fixed, along with the antenna that stopped going up/down. Merry Christmas!

I've had more exhaust issues with my 95 over the 91 wagons. Not sure why. Just replaced the center muffler/resonator, don't know what this one is called. Pipes up to the cat and back to the rear muffler. $400. at an indy shop. The dealer certainly would want more. Only thing is that they always have a hard time getting the whole thing to hang the way I like it. Which is up close to the chassis as it was when from factory. So I'm going back and take them up on the satisfaction guarantee.

Back in action....no more fffffffttttttt on startup or acceleration.

It's really nice to have the radio antenna operational again...many kudos to Mike at Benz Werks who will take the time and actually diagnose and fix the issue, rather than just throwing parts at the problem. Saved me some $$$.

Have you replaced the speaker? Still buzzing? The website that handles the Rainbow drop ins is up for sale....not sure he's taking orders.
